Other Things to Note
For the toilets :
Just put paper inside of the toilets. It's a built-in grinder toilet. So any other material could damage the mechanism.
For the shower :
Open the window when you take a shower to let the humidity go out.
We had a great stay at Benji's apartment in Paris. Great location and close to the metro. Perfect is you're just looking for a place to crash while exploring the city!
Benji is a great host. He communicated well prior to our visit and was detailed on how to facilitate check-in when he wouldn't be able to greet us in person. We were able to meet later, and he was full of helpful ideas for what to see and do in Paris. The room is as described and depicted in the pictures. Maps and guide books are provided for guests. The apartment is a short 5-minute walk from Gare de Lyon. The area is safe and there many eateries within walking distance. Benji is a good host who is open and willing to help his guests. Thanks, Benji.
Room is clean and functional. Love the microwave and refrigerator. Good size shower. Location is convenient. Host is wonderful. Overall a good experience. The only thing is that it doesn't have air conditioning. So that it could be a little uncomfortable if the weather is hot in the summer.
Benji est très accueillant. Son studio est fonctionnel et bien placé par rapport au métro, seul bémol pour ma part: il manque une plaque de cuisson.
Great location, friendly and helpful host. Place was well-equipped and comfortable. Was a little too cosy for two people as we had large bags, but still very serviceable. Bathroom/toilet was compact but it is understandably downtown Paris and still reflected great value for money. Having a bar fridge and kitchenette (no stove) was a great bonus.
Not recommended. It's a nightmare!
Benji is a nice person, he helped us an easy check-in, and is very reachable since he just lives next door. But there's something we cannot bear and we must report.
The place looks clean, but it's just the appearance. The bed, especially, is very dirty. I have no idea when's last time the bedsheets and blanket were washed, because my girlfriend just got bit by fleas over the whole body. The first night was okay, she woke up and got 2 flea bites on her legs, 3 on her arms. we found it irritated and disgusted. I was about to report the problem but my girlfriend said its kind of acceptable, since she has a more likely sensitive skin and physique. On the second morning, the situation got worse. She woke up and there are 28 flea bites on her body overall, from her face to fingers to arms and to the legs. She got very itchy and hurt, we even need to go to the pharmacy to buy pills and cream. I reported this problem to Benji that day, he didn't reply. I sent the message twice, he never reply the whole day. We were so pissed. By the time we got home is almost 23H30, we knocked the door next to us, surprisingly it was Benji who answered the door. He was home, but he was already asleep. We apologized to wake him up but still, I was very very mad. (The point is, how is it possible that he never check on his phone from day-time (we sent him message around noon) until the time he went to sleep? Is that even possible especially when you are a host and you knew that people stay there currently? ) He asked what do we need, my girlfriend told him about her problem, but he seems careless and say oh okay, yes I can change the bed sheet for you. Then he gave us another bed sheet, which I don't know it's clean or not, then we put on the new one and spent the last night at Benji's.
He is a kind person, but his attitude and response frequency is outrageous. My girlfriend was hurtful and itchy because of sleeping on that bed, but he chose to ignore and not to reply our message. And I can tell you changing the bed sheet won't fix this problem at all. The stay at Benji's flat completely ruin our trip and my girlfriend's mood, it's totally a nightmare for both of us. She can't even wear sleeveless top in the following week just because of the inflamed marks. It is very ridiculous and unacceptable.
I don't understand what happened and I'm sorry that you had a bad experience. I wash the bedsheets and blanket every time at a high temperature and I have some professional cleaner that comes every time I change customer.
You asked me to change the bedsheets and I did it right away but I did not read your message during the day and I'm sorry for that. I'm leaving next door so, knocking on the door and talking to me it's better :)
Again I'm sorry for your girlfriend and I would react the same if I was you.
