I have two mountain bikes with locks that are available for your use at any time during your stay.
I also rent out my 2007 Jeep Wrangler through a website similar to airbnb called Relay Rides. If you interested are have any questions just send me a message.
There is no smoking indoors. Smoking is allowed anywhere outside the home. I have a very large, covered driveway in case of poor weather.
On weekends I am typically out late watching living music or working one of my own events. I have a separate entrance on the opposite side of the house so noise is not a problem. The kitchen is right next to my bedroom, so, I ask that it be used only when I am not sleeping in the evening. Lafayette has plenty of late night food choices. I am usually up early in the mornings, even on weekends so if you want to cook breakfast before checking out that is not a problem.
If you choose to use the bikes you will be responsible for any damage other than normal wear and tear (flat tires, etc.). Bike locks are provided so you will also be responsible for cases of theft at $75 per bike.
Our host was not present during our stay - he was at a conference out of town. He made sure we had info on the key and who else was going to be present at the location. The room was as described, clean and neat - the other guest were very helpful getting us located and set up. Tony provided us with info on good eating places nearby. His communication was good. We were only staying one night - so it was a quick stop.
It was great! Clean and well kept. Just as pictured. I never saw Toby during my one night stay, but I could reach him through message. Would stay again if passing through.
We only stayed here one night for a quick trip from our place in New Orleans to check out Mardi Gras in Cajun Country- totally different traditions and it was great to see how others celebrate the occasion. We Had a blast and everything in the listing was exactly as advertised. There were 4-5 bikes available for use, and Toby was incredibly responsive to any/all questions.
We had a great time at Toby's! The house and room are just as described, neat and cozy and close to everything in Lafayette.
I was pleasantly surprised when I got there to find Toby waiting to welcome me. I was also happy to find that we have a mutual friend, who vouched for him. (This was my first time using Airbnb, and I was a little nervous.) The room was exactly as described, very clean and safe, with wine and glasses. The house was very pretty, which just adds to the experience. The neighborhood was nice, easy to find and convenient. Overall, it was a good experience that gave me exactly what I needed (a clean, safe, inexpensive place to stay on a business trip).
Cozy room, very clean, exactly how the description describes it. Toby was a great host, really showed us what Cajun culture is all about! close to downtown, minimum 15 minute walk to downtown. Toby was more than happy to guide us around Lafayette. Never a boring moment (specially on the weekends). I would stay here again when I come back.
When we arrived the power had gone out, but Toby rushed over (he has an apt a mile away) and gathered candles. He's a truly laid back, friendly guy you'd just like to have a beer with. He gave us suggestions to eat, and was in no rush to leave. I'm sure he would have spend as long as needed for people who wanted suggestions. Side note: there's an AWESOME book he has on Cajun families and their lives in the swamp and everyone who stays NEEDA to pick up. So adorable! PERFECT accommodations. Don't think twice. He'll have wine waiting, and he employes a housekeeper, so the space is very neat.

I am a University Professor of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. I also teach tennis part-time and own a company that promotes live music events. I have been living in Lafayette most of my life and enjoy giving suggestions about what to do and where to go in the area.
I also enjoy cooking, running, lifting weights, yoga, Tae Kwon Do, and most of all attending live music events.
One of my latest goals is to travel as much as possible. I have backpacked 10 countries in Europe staying mostly in hostels and I most recently traveled for 2 months across the Western United States staying in over a dozen airbnb homes including an RV, a tepee, and a completely solar-powered dome shelter in the Texas desert!
My latest adventure took place this Christmas Break (2014-2015) as I toured 3 countries in South America, including Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil.
I also enjoy talking about and showing off the area where I live ... Acadiana.
