  • Liza and Jamie are lovely hosts. Everything in the carriage house was beautiful and just like the pictures show. The neighborhood is gorgeous and just a 6 minute walk to shops, restaurants and the metro. The only difficulty was the steps up and down for my mom who is elderly but we knew about this in advance.

  • When I booked the Carriage House online, I was impressed by the pictures, but when I arrived at the exquisitely restored house than blends period touches with modern conveniences in a tree house hideaway made feel as if I had landed in the best spot of an already enchanted world. The grounds -- green and bucolic, yet blocks away from the T for an easy ride into Boston, and near lots of shops and restaurants, as well as a couple of blocks from lake -- made feel as if were on a retreat and provided me with ample resources for rest and play.

Jamie and Liza are considerate, responsive hosts who can make one feel right at home, while also providing a great sense of privacy for their guests in the Carriage House, which is right in their own backyard. It was a delight to meet them and also to spend a little time getting to know them better. They stocked the carriage house with plenty necessities, but also luxuries, like the makings for that morning espresso or latte, without which some of us can’t quite function.

The bed is amazingly comfortable and with enough pillows to accommodate the taste of every kind of sleeper. The huge tub in the bathroom makes for a great soak, after which the plush towels, warmed on a heated towel rack, all contribute to a spa-like experience. The kitchen is equipped for cooking meals that can then be enjoyed at the beautiful dining table with its plush and comfortable chairs.

I urge guests to take some time to watch the DVD displayed on the music stand in the Carriage House. The DVD, “So Much, So Fast,” is an award-winning documentary about Stephen Haywood’s struggle with ALS and the way his family rallied around to help him, as well as others afflicted by rare conditions, through the foundation they started for research and the development of drugs for these conditions. It was a delight and a privilege to spend some time in the carriage house that is a beautiful tribute to an amazing family and their extraordinary story.

  • My parents stayed here when they came to visit and had a phenomenal experience. The Carriage House is spacious and comfortable, and the hosts were available for any problems while also giving us our own space. Highly recommend if you have need for a house in the western suburbs of Boston!!

  • Don't miss your chance to stay at the Carriage House! Everything was perfect from beginning to end. Jamie and Liza were very responsive in answering all our questions and arranging check-in/check-out. The house was very well appointed with everything you could possibly need. The location was also perfect for exploring Boston and surrounding areas with the train station right down the street. Now we are just searching for an excuse to go back to Massachusetts so we can stay at the Carriage House again! Thanks Jamie and Liza for sharing your awesome house.

  • This is a lovely place in a quiet neighborhood. Comfortable furniture and bed. Attractive furnishings. The location is within minutes of downtown Boston, but even better within walking distance of a neighborhood center with restaurants, coffee shop and gift shops, the commuter train station, nail and hair salons — really, you don't need to leave this quiet haven. Some great walks in the area too. The architecture of the houses in this area is really great.

  • We loved our stay at the Carriage House! It is spacious and so well decorated. Very convenient to the T Station Green Line - only two block away. Great restaurants within walking distance. Jamie and Liza were perfect hosts. It is our hope to stay here again on our next visit to beautiful Boston!

  • My husband and I recently stayed at the Carriage House for ~3 months while I had Medical treatment at Dana Farber. I cannot begin to describe the comfort of the house. It is absolutely lovely and not missing a thing one should need. We could not have been in a more lovely "home away from home". But perhaps more importantly are Jamie and Liza-the owners of this stunning property. They were always around with offers to make sure that we had everything we needed but never intrusive. One night during a snow storm after Jamie had been out clearing snow forever, he came and got the keys to my car, cleaned it off and re-parked it making it easier for me to get out in the morning. I'm hoping that I never need to be at Dana for an extended time again but if I do there is no where else that I would want to be than back at the carriage house. Thank you Jamie and Liza for all your kindness and encouragement. You are lovely people.

  • I stayed at the Carriage House last week, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire experience. Jamie and Liza were wonderful hosts. They responded promptly and thoughtfully to all of our questions, and they made the check-in and check-out process easy and efficient. On top of that, they left a wonderful, clear booklet of information about the Carriage House and the neighborhood to help make our stay more comfortable, and we were greeted by a bottle of wine waiting for us! It was perfect! The Carriage House itself was incredible. The pictures do not do it justice! The architecture, design, and decor made it feel like our own private boutique hotel. We stayed for three nights in autumn, and the location of the Carriage House, on a quiet, tree-lined street with bright, falling leaves, made it a quintessential New England experience. I can't say enough about how wonderful we found every aspect of our visit to the Carriage House, and we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

  • Five stars without question! We're somewhat seasoned AirBnB-ers and this is by far the best place we've stayed in. The Carriage House was beautifully restored by Jamie and his brother with gorgeous tasteful furniture, a modern kitchen (with everything you might need!), comfortable king-size bed, and a quiet, peaceful accessible location. We can't stress how gorgeous it is. Communication with Jamie was great and super fast. Liza, his wife, was there to greet us. She was friendly and very helpful. Everything there is exactly (and even better) than advertised. It was our wedding weekend, and we didn't have time to see Jaime and Liza much, but we highly recommend The Carriage House and we'll be back!
