Susan’s place is in an excellent location- 1 minute walk to campus, 10 minute walk to downtown. The bed is outfitted with super comfy pillows and blankets, and I appreciated the ceiling fan and reading light. The room is as advertised: shared bathroom, older home, big friendly do…

Southern hospitality! Susan is super friendly and goes out of her way to help guests. The bed was comfortable. The property is walking distance to anywhere on the Sewanee campus. I loved all the little personal touches in the room--chocolate eggs for Easter, moisturizing cream, …

You should know that a dog lives here, it says it in the description. The dog is super sweet and kind even to our 10 month old, we have a dog and we love dogs. However there is an overwhelming dog odor throughout the house. And there was doggie doo doo on the floor when we arrive…

Response from Susan:
Nick, I am so sorry to find after the fact that you had these issues. We try our best to be sure our guests have a comfortable, enjoyable stay and to adress issues as soon as they arise. True, several incidents combined at the beginning of your stay: I relied on the Airbnb calendar as the day you were arriving, rather than the earlier date you had arranged, I was working but came home as quickly as possible, a dog accident surprised us all but was quickly remidied. We use a cleaning service and of course, also work on rooms ourselves. We will follow up on the cleanliness issues. Do remember that a 145 year old house sometimes has imperfections that are not necessarily dirt.

Susan's lovely, rambling post-civil war era home was originally designed to be a Bed and Breakfast. It now comfortably serves that purpose. The room we stayed in had plenty of room, was conveniently located next to the bathroom, offered a comfortable queen size bed, and was beaut…

Susan's house was gorgeous. The bedroom was big and the bed itself was a dream. The house is in a neighborhood that rests within the local university so there's walking paths and green spaces all around as well as some great architecture nearby. Above and beyond was Susan herself…

We are a relaxed family who love living in this small academic community. While we do not speak language other than English, fluently, we have many resources here to help us and our visitors who do. Our style here is relaxed but thorough. We love having folks share our home an…
