You can make use of almost everything in the house. Some days I am away, so you have the change to have the house complete for yourself. You can make use of the kitchen, washing machine and even of my secret spot next to the canal. This is secret, so don't tell anybody else.
My philosophy of doing is airbnb is of fair use and respect. Then you use my house and the space, if this is your own.
Interaction with Guests
I love talking. Communication is all. But I also respect your privacy. My main target is that my guests have a good time stay in Alkmaar.
The house is situated between the waters of the old town of Alkmaar. So you will experience directly the atmosphere live around the canals. The neighborhood is very calm, because only cars from people living in the city are aloud.
The train and bus center of Alkmaar are just a 15 minutes walk from the house. You can also rent a taxi or take the bus if you have lots of luggage. In the summertime you can find town maps if you leave the station.
To find my house, just walk in the direction of the center/Grote Kerk. After the first bridge, go right. At the end of the street you will found the house.
Other Things to Note
This house is with cat.
Just behave like you would at home. With respect for the things and all the livelihood.
The house position is very good, in the middle of the town, 300 meters distance from the church. The landlord Michel is very Friendly, told me a lot, thank you very much.
Great place, awesome host. Wonderful view. I totally recommend this place. Thanks.
He is a lovely man. we had a good time thanks to him:) Even though we were a bit late to reach his house, he kindly welcomed us. Location is rather nice, you can see the good view of Alkmaar. moreover, you would be able to be right as a traveler since you could hear god information like where to go, see, and visit from him.
Thank you very much Michel:)
Michel is a really cool and relax guy. He left us his key and trusted us to come in even though he wasn't home when we arrived with adorable greeting by the cat. The location is superb! The town is so unique and it's perfect for your getaway (with loads of shopping)! The room was good however since it's right next to his room, privacy is limited and there's no lock. Overall it's an enjoyable stay and the cat is really cute!

About the Host, Michel
I am the owner of this beautiful house since december last year. I was born in Alkmaar and I have been living in this neighborhood for most of my life. The last couple of years I lived in Egmond. I am the father of three children. Two of them are old enough to travel themself. My daughter has travelled all over South-America.
In my daily life, I work as a manager for an Internet Company in Amsterdam. I like to play a little bit of guitar, or use my reclining bicycle for riding around Holland.
My motivation for renting this house is, except for making a little bit of money, to meet other people and share some knowledge about Alkmaar, Egmond and Amsterdam.
In the meantime I'm also have some hard work on improving this old house. I hope to finish also the terrace next to the Canal in June/July. Next year it will also possible to hire the house in the summertime.
Meet real Alkmaar in the nicest en coziest pub in Alkmaar. Just 100 meters from my house.
