Cosy double room with brand new mattress in a quiet area just 2 minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of Cork's lovely city centre. Great garden, sweet little pets and a chilled-out atmosphere in a beautiful old house!
Cosy double room with brand new mattress in a quiet area just 2 minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The bedroom catches the morning sunlight, whilst the evening rays soak the garden.
We have two small dogs and one cat; the dogs (one Jack Russell and one Dachshund mix) are quiet (usually!), energetic and very friendly, whereas the cat just likes chilling and eating, and he is quite talkative and very loving.
Everything Cork city has to offer is within walking distance of the house, and there is a friendly tourist office close by, though we would be delighted to share our knowledge of the city with you! There are plenty of leaflets about Cork's attractions and surroundings in the bedroom too. Walking distance to both bus and train stations (each 10 minutes walk), and a 20-minute bus journey to the airport.

I love cooking, reading, relaxing with nice music, long walks and travelling. The house is beautiful, bright and spacious with loads of character and charm! Lots of original features, such as shutters on the windows, stained glass, wooden floors, high ceilings, etc. The kitchen is currently unavailable for personal use, though you can email beforehand and we may be able to accommodate you (as long as you don't mind animals bouncing around!) :)
We don't smoke during the day in the house, though we sometimes smoke in the evening in the kitchen, which is on the ground floor and the guest room is on the third floor (but if you are strongly opposed to this, please let us know and we have no problem to go outside!).
Kitchen strictly unavailable, unless by pre-arrangement!

PLEASE NOTE: Maité's lovely mother, Karin, will be minding the house from April - August 2015, and she is sure to make your stay as pleasant as possible!
Really friendly area, lots of old men with dogs pottering around! Great view of Cork from top of the hill.
The house is situated just a 3-minute walk from the town centre; a 7-minute walk to Kent station (train station) and a 5-minute walk to Parnell Place bus station. The airport is about a 20-minute taxi ride (costs about 14euro).
For full directions, please see your "itinerary" once a reservation is confirmed.
Other Things to Note
PLEASE NOTE: Maité's lovely mother, Karin, will be minding the house from April - August 2015.
Quiet after 11pm on weekdays please!
Let us know the day before if you want breakfast :) I will leave it out for you in the kitchen. Help yourself to cereal, etc. in the study room.
Please TURN OFF the heating in your room when you are out.
If you would like to use the kitchen, please let us know in advance as we hang out there most of the time!
Please give us a check-in time with a maximum error of one hour, so we can organise ourselves! :)
Also - VERY important - Please close the front door PROPERLY when entering or leaving, as it opens on to the street and I would be worried about the cats!
Nice location, spacious room, and friendly hosts. The doggies were super adorable, and I loved the garden. We had a very nice stay in Cork.
We have stayed two nights at this place. The room is very small, unfortunately there was no key available for the room - so the cat could go into the room. The bathroom was very small and we were not able to adjust the shower temperature control - it changed from extremely hot to freezing cold. As the weather was not good during our stay we also felt cold inside the house.
Maite was very friendly, although she was clearly busy during the time of our visit. The room is amazing with a very comfortable bed, great shower, and beautiful views. It is very conveniently located and the only small issue we had was finding free parking nearby, but Maite was very helpful with this.
Maite is lovely host with a welcoming manner and really easy to talk to. She has wonderful pets who are all charming and extremely well behaved.
Her delightful home is full of character and warmth. It is full of eclectic charm.
The room is perfect. I heard no noise and it was always warm. After a few weeks of not sleeping well This bed provided me with the BEST nights sleep ever.
The house is well located and it's easy to get around.
I would recommend Maites home to anyone and I would definitely use it again.
Great place to stay! Maite was super friendly and inviting and very accommodating on my arrival time! The room was very cute and cosy and the location was brilliant. Thanks again and highly recommended!
Great location!! And what a cozy cute room. Even got some cuddle time with the cat. Thanks Maité!
Apartment was in really good location. Me and my friend had a nice and clean bedroom and bathroom with good price.

Please note: For some months this summer, I will be away and my delightful mum, Karin, will be minding the house, animals, BnB and garden; she is lovely and will make ensure that you have as pleasant a stay as possible!
I am a 26-year old currently doing a Masters in International Public Policy and Diplomacy; I love gardening, sustainable living, animals (both dogs are rescues), learning, reading, travelling (especially walking and/or camping trips), cooking and enjoying barbecues in the garden during summer.
I love learning from others, and that is one of the things I like about hosting on AirBnB - hearing other experiences, stories, etc...makes me feel like I am travelling from the comfort of my own home!
