Cosy double room with brand new mattress in a quiet area just 2 minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The bedroom catches the morning sunlight, whilst the evening rays soak the garden. We have a piano and a guitar in the living room downstairs, if any musical types would like to play a few tunes!
We are a welcoming young couple; we love cooking, reading, relaxing with nice music, long walks and travelling. The house is beautiful, bright and spacious with loads of character and charm! Lots of original features, such as shutters on the windows, stained glass, wooden floors, high ceilings, etc. The kitchen is currently unavailable for personal use, though you can email beforehand and we may be able to accommodate you :) We don't smoke during the day in the house, though we sometimes smoke in the evening in the kitchen, which is on the ground floor and the guest room is on the third floor (but if you are strongly opposed to this, please let us know and we have no problem to go outside!).
We have a small Jack Russell dog and two cats; the dog is quiet (usually!), energetic and very friendly, whereas the cats just like chilling and eating. Update; We have just acquired a second small dog, who is also very chilled and friendly.
Everything Cork city has to offer is within walking distance of the house, and there is a friendly tourist office close by, though we would be delighted to share our knowledge of the city with you! There are plenty of leaflets about Cork's attractions and surroundings in the bedroom too. Walking distance to both bus and train stations (each 10 minutes walk), and a 20-minute bus journey to the airport.

Haven't been back to cork for ages. Received a warm welcome and smile from Maite and her lovely pets. Place was quiet but close enough to the city centre and amenities were all provided including banter about valerian tea! Can't get more personal than that!
We stayed at Maite's house for 3 nights over the valentines weekend and had a great time! The house is in a fantastic location, 2 minutes' walk from our favourite pub in Cork and 5 minutes from the city centre and bus station.
The room was small and cosy, and soon got very warm with the heater on which was a blessing as we were frozen and soaked from the rain when we arrived.
Maite unfortunately had to go away at short notice while we were there, so we didn't see much of her, but when we met she was warm and friendly and keen to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. Her pets are lovely and friendly too.
We love Cork, and would stay at Maite's house again if it was available for our next trip.
The room is comfortable and it was clean when we have arrived. It's a well situated house. A cool place to stay.
Thank you Maité!
Maité house is really lovely! I would love to have one like that in future. Both Maité and Peter are very nice people, they were always helpful and responding to my needs and questions. I loved 2 little dogs and 2 old and wise cats!
My stay in Cork was absolutely fantastic! Maite and Peter were great hosts, very friendly and laid back. The room itself was wonderful, very warm, cosy and private. I would happily recommend anyone looking for a great place to stay in Cork to stay with Maite and Peter!
Maite and Peter´s house is quite lovely. They have two tiny dogs and two old cats, which you will find very cute if you like pets. But if you don´t, you shouldn´t worry because they are very quiet and they mostly hang out in a room donwstairs. The bedroom is cozy and very well heated, and the fact that it is on the top floor gives you a sens of privacy. There is a very useful coffee table in the room, where you can find an electric kettle, some coffe and two cups to make your breakfast, as well as a desk with some interesting books and brochures. Next door, there is also a small bathroom for your own use.
The house is very well located, just across St. Patrick´s Brigde and five minutes away from the bus station, so if you arrive at Cork by plane, you may well take a bus from the airport to Maite´s house.
Perfect for our needs. Maite is very friendly without being too much. Just right for us. Will definitely stay again.
Maite and Petr's place was in a great location. Parking was a bit tricky as someone else mentioned, but there are 8€ a day lots within walking distance. The room is up on the 3rd floor but Petr was awesome and offered to help us with is GIANT bags (thanks again!). Their pups are extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here. :)
We spent a really nice weekend in Cork, and this room was handy to explore the city as it is very close to the center. Maité was friendly and easy-going, expect a normal university student life in the house :-) We would recommend the room for young, low-budget travellers, as it is a tiny and very basic accomodation and you need to climb a bit as well. In winter time be prepared that there is no heating in the shower!
