Please read details below!
Cosy double room with brand new mattress in a quiet area just 2 minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The bedroom catches the morning sunlight, whilst the evening rays soak the garden.
We have two small dogs and one cat; the dogs (one Jack Russell and one Dachshund mix) are quiet (usually!), energetic and very friendly, whereas the cat just likes chilling and eating, and he is quite talkative and very loving.
Everything Cork city has to offer is within walking distance of the house, and there is a friendly tourist office close by, though we would be delighted to share our knowledge of the city with you! There are plenty of leaflets about Cork's attractions and surroundings in the bedroom too. I love cooking, reading, relaxing with nice music, long walks and travelling. The house is beautiful, bright and spacious with loads of character and charm! Lots of original features, such as shutters on the windows, stained glass, wooden floors, high ceilings, etc. The kitchen is currently unavailable for personal use, though you can email beforehand and we may be able to accommodate you (as long as you don't mind animals bouncing around!) :)
We don't smoke during the day in the house, though we sometimes smoke in the evening in the kitchen, which is on the ground floor and the guest room is on the third floor (but if you are strongly opposed to this, please let us know and we have no problem to go outside!).
Kitchen strictly unavailable, unless by pre-arrangement!

Really friendly area, lots of old men with dogs pottering around! Great view of Cork from top of the hill.
The house is situated just a 3-minute walk from the town centre; a 7-minute walk to Kent station (train station) and a 5-minute walk to Parnell Place bus station. The airport is about a 20-minute taxi ride (costs about 14euro).

Other Things to Note
PLEASE NOTE: Maité's lovely mother, Karin, will be minding the house from April - August 2015.

Let us know the day before if you want breakfast :) I will leave it out for you in the study room. Help yourself to cereal, etc. in the study room.
Please TURN OFF the heating in your room when you are out.
If you would like to use the kitchen, please let us know in advance as we hang out there most of the time!

Also - VERY important - Please close the front door PROPERLY when entering or leaving, as it opens on to the street and I would be worried about the cats!
Maité and Karin were lovely hosts. They were very helpful, giving me advice on where to eat and what to see. The location was perfect, easy walking distance (not more than 10 minutes) to (almost) everything I wanted to see. The room and the house are just like in the pictures, and the breakfast area was great. The bathroom is quite small, but you get used it!
The room was nice. The bed was reasonably comfortable and having the little breakfast nook was great. I had a nice space and the facilities were clean. Karin was always happy to give recommendations on where to go.
The only downside was when I washed my clothes, they were left out in the rain underneath a tree that dropped things on them.
Karin is a very cordial person and we felt us welcome in this house. We had the room upstairs (in summer there is also a room in the middle). It was clean and tidy and the matress was perfect. We had some flakes and milk for free. The house is really near to city centre and for the best pub you have just 1min. to walk. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it. Thats also a perfect single room.
This room is positioned at the top of many flights of stairs, however, the bed is very comfortable and the house full of character; there are even some friendly pets here which I found to be a plus. We were given an additional room which served as a desk and breakfast table with some light snacks and filtered water, and a lovely picturesque lookout of Cork. Enjoyable stay and extremely friendly host.
Maité and Karin were brilliant hosts!! On arrival to the house (which the directions given by the hosts were very easy to follow) we were greeted by Maité and their cute little doggy Bobby. We were shown our room, bathroom and the breakfast room and then brought out to the garden where we met Karin. The house is in a great location in the city and is perfect for those without a car. The room was a great size and we felt very comfortable in the house. Maité and Karin were very welcoming and gave us some great tips on places to see and eat in the city. I would definitely stay with them again.
The room was super cute and close to the city center and Maite and Karin were very welcoming and kind. The study room with snacks was amazing! The shower was a bit cold, however.

About the Host, Maité And Karin (Mother - Daughter Duo)
Please note: For some months this summer, I will be away and my delightful mum, Karin, will be minding the house, animals, BnB and garden; she is lovely and will make ensure that you have as pleasant a stay as possible!
I am a 26-year old currently doing a Masters in International Public Policy and Diplomacy; I love gardening, sustainable living, animals (both dogs are rescues), learning, reading, travelling (especially walking and/or camping trips), cooking and enjoying barbecues in the garden during summer.
I love learning from others, and that is one of the things I like about hosting on AirBnB - hearing other experiences, stories, etc...makes me feel like I am travelling from the comfort of my own home!
