AREA DESCRIPTION :
Cola di Rienzo Apartment is located in Via Cola di Rienzo, one of the most charming streets of the historic center of Rome where you can have a fantastic shopping with products from the " Made in Italy "
From Via Cola di Rienzo you can walk to:
Piazza del Popolo and Via del Corso in 7 minutes
St. Peter's Square, Vatican in 7 minutes
Castel San'Angelo in 10 minutes
Lepanto Metro Station in 5 minutes
Spanish Steps in 15 minutes
The neighborhood San Pietro-Vaticano is certainly one of the most beautiful areas of Rome, not only because it hosts the Vatican City, which is considered the smallest State in the world, but also because within the neighborhood you will find the famous Borgo Pio a very interesting area not only for the medieval town planning and for the monuments and architectures but also because it is a fun site, where to spend their time between clubs, bars and restaurants where to listen to good music with friends and for sure to enjoy an excellent
real Italian pizza.Obviously the highlight of the area is without doubt the St. Peter's Basilica, which is the heart of Christianity in the world and the Vatican City with its thousands of artistic and historical beauties that make it one of the most fascinating places in the world. Truly not to be missed when the sun has set is the impressive scenery of the Basilica that stands at the end of Via della Conciliazione. However this area of the centre of rome not only offers this wonder: for example more striking monument is the Passetto — a fortified corridor, visitable on request, connecting the Vatican to Castel Sant'Angelo fortress. Right on the walls of the passetto is the fountain of tiaras that was completed in 1927 by Pietro Lombardi. On via della Conciliazione you can admire Palazzo Torlonia, built in 1496 was commissioned by Cardinal Adriano Castellesi and was later the British Embassy for many years. Also note the fountain of cannon balls, which are explicit references to the nearby fortress of Castel Sant'Angelo, porta Santo Spirito, the southern gate to the leonine walls erected around 846 to defend Borgo Pio
by the Saracens.
The St. Peter-Vatican district is also well connected to the public transportation system. At about 700 metres away is the Metro Station Ottaviano San Pietro and a whole series of public bus lines that allow you to easily navigate to any point of the city and its historical centre
The strengh of this apartment remains its location just 10 minutes walk from the Vatican and 20/ 25 minutes from Piazza Navona . Communication ( by phone or email ) with Mr. Brunelli about check-in was efficient.
However , we never had the chance to meet Mr Brunelli who had delegated to the maid the check-in and check-out. This lady is speaking only Italian , and she merely prepares the beds and collects a tax !
Finally, if the apartment is properly furnished , it lacks a real oven ( there is just a microwave) a toaster, and the only bathroom in which is the only toilet is frankly inadequate for 4 / 6 people.
The lack of double glazing ensuring a minimum sound insulation is the big downside of this apartment. We had the impression (even for good sleepers like us ) to sleep in the middle of the street and Via Cola di Rienzo is paved , so we let you imagine ! Without anychange on this point, we strongly do not recommend this apartment .
In order to answer about your comments about the apartment : This property has been renovated not very long time ago and it is located in one of the most beautiful streets of Rome .... that is Via Cola di Rienzo and it is on the 3rd floor ! So now in the description of the apartment it is written that there is " Forno a Microonde " , that is the Microwave ..... and in the description it is written that there is only 1 bathroom ... so now I do not understand why you are complaining about this point !! You should know that there was only one bathroom !! Regarding the person that was managing the check in this lady is not a maid but she normally makes welcomings for us since long time , she is a kind and clever person and she speaks good english ! Furthermore this apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a tall ancient building ... so I do not know how it could be noisy !!
I stayed in Rome for one week and Marco's apartment made my stay very enjoyable.
First of all the location is great. It is about 15 minute walk the vatican if you walk one way up the street, and 15 minutes the other way takes you across the river to the piazza del popolo.....from there you are in the heart of all the activity you want. Great shopping and close to all the other sightseeing attractions. I walked all of rome in my one week stay.
The apartment itself is very clean, with a modern kitchen and bathroom. The beds are comfortable and large. When i was there i did not need AC or heat, but both are available if needed.
It came with a living room with a tv and SAT or cable tv, but i never watched any tv.
The apartment is on the 3rd floor but is a birdcage elevator that makes entry and exit a breeze.
i would highly recommend this apartment to anyone going to rome. It is far better than staying in any hotel. You have full privacy, lots of space, convenient location, and clean and modern.
I also want to thank marco for making the whole process trouble free. He also organized a pick up and delivery to the airport. This was true VIP service.
Enjoy rome.....it is a one of a kind city.....the eternal city that will give you eternal memories.
When it comes to Rome Marco is "the Man!"
This was our second stay with Marco both times in Rome.
Yes his location is Superior.
Yes both his apartments are (aesthetically) top notch
But you will want to stay at these places because of Marco this is a professional and a man with resources. Resources that can take a challenge and turn it around in no time :). Thank you Marco
Gratzi Milli ciao!
