I leave that up to my guests. Sometimes I never get to meet the guests other times we chat every day. I consider myself friendly but conscious of others privacy.

John's place is exactly as described. In a nice location with a really cool local market nearby where I picked up some blood oranges in the morning (about 4 blocks away).
No problems at all. Bed was comfortable. John was accommodating with check-in/check-out which I appreciate.
Pleasant experience overall.
Exactly what I needed for an overnight stay and it was so comfortable I would happily stay longer next time! John made things very simple and easy by providing details about where and where not to park and how to find the key and get in.
The location is great too, close to lots of cool restaurants!
Wonderful little guest room/cottage. It was a great little oasis in the city. Everything was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the backyard hummingbirds. Easy connection to wifi. It was amazingly close to everything we wanted to do.
We couldn't have been more pleased with the cozy guesthouse. It was accurately described and had a very warm and homey feel about it. The location is superb with very short walking distance to all there is to offer in Hillcrest, yet far enough away to enjoy a quiet evening. There is also a cute market with a fabulous deli just steps away and it is only a short drive to downtown nightlife and a few blocks top Balboa Park.
The backyard is absolutely stunning It boasts an abundance of beautiful plant life and lovely hummingbirds that call it home. It also has a lovely deck with a table to enjoy cool evenings or leisurely afternoon meals.
But best of all were our spectacular hosts John and Nellie who were kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. We stayed twelve wonderful nights and without a doubt would stay again.
John and his wife were very welcoming. I enjoyed the sunny back patio and appreciated the suggestions of places to see in the area. Great area for walking. Only a block away from the Spruce St. suspension bridge and very close to the busy Hillcrest area and Balboa Park. The apt was very comfortable and I felt right at home. A couple space heaters were provided to take off the evening chill-thanks.
Thanks for your hospitality and I hope to stay again.
John is an excellent host. He was there to welcome us when we reached. He gave a tour of the house and the house was clean when we reached. He gave us the wi-fi password and there was cable connection which was helpful.
The kitchen was stuffed with necessary items and he asked us in advance if we wanted anything specific. There were enough towels and accessories in the bathroom. The house does not have privacy if you are more than a couple. But, what I liked is he was very honest about it in the process of booking.
The neighborhood is very safe and easily accessible to the parks and airport. Lots of street parking space.
John is a great host and he was there whenever we needed him. He lives very next door, but the best thing was he gave us our privacy and yet, he was available to answer all the question regarding the San Diego attraction.
John was extremely helpful. Very easy to communicate and help my wife and I a lot during our visit to San Diego. Definitely I will choose his home next time I am visiting San Diego.
The home is in a great area, next to restaurants, cafeterias and some bars.
I am originally from the UK. My wife is a nitve san diegan, but has strong Irish ties. We are both teachers heading towards retirement. We love the San diego restaurents and our two small daogs.
