LOCATION: Location, location, location. The house is located in the coolest, hippest neighborhood in Valdosta, Fairview historic district. Fairview is a fairly small neighborhood, but the house is located in one of its best tiny pockets. It is conveniently located 3 blocks from quaint downtown Valdosta. There are a number of great bars and restaurants within very close walking distance, including The Bleu Pub, Steel Magnolias(which has a rooftop bar),The Bleu cafe,The Bistro, and an adorable vinyl/vintage clothing store and many more… (We also offer bicycles to rent)This home was built circa 1904. It is a lovely home with an elaborate garden. The house is a large, single shotgun, and a true one-of-a-kind home. There are 2 private bedrooms, each with queen-size beds, and there is additional living rooms/space for lounging, with a couch that could also be used for sleeping. We have music room completely set up. The house has a large kitchen and one bathroom with a shower and a tub combo. There is oven/stove and fridge. The house is fully furnished, with cookware, and all the amenities you will need. We are not TV people, but there is one in the living room if you want to watch a dvd. But everyone has a laptop these days, right? Speaking of which, the house has high-speed WI-FI, so if you want to watch a tv show, bring your laptop! There is a really great front porch for hanging out, and a sweet back yard too! Simply put, the place has a ton of that rustic Valdosta charm. Granted, it is an old house and could use some updates (paint, etc.), but it is very clean and comfortable. It is truly a rare gem of a place, absolutely lovable.
Brandi is one of my closest friends, a fellow Okefenokee Swap dweller and a foodie extraordinaire. Her home is much like her...welcoming, quirky and bustling with life. I highly recommend her as someone who will not only show you the hidden gems of her local area but also help you find new ones in your own town. Courtesy, reliability and a passion for kitties are also an A+ for Ms. Griffin!
