Great location; host very helpful (not seen but not necessary as it turned out: very convenient check-in/check-out). Nice room, nice communal area.
The place was as described, very close to downtown in a nice neighborhood. The furniture had seen better days, but for the most part everything was fine.
Great place to stay! Charming Halifax home, very clean and very quiet in a very central location to downtown, campus, Point Pleasant park, Spring Garden road and Citadel. Decor is simple and European. Even though shared washrooms there are two full washrooms and a powder room so was never a problem. Felt safe and secure. Will never stay at a hotel in Halifax again.

About the Host, Neil
Neil is the Operations Manager for New Scotland and the Novel Stay. He is an artist specializing in painting and illustration. All of the original paintings on display at the chalet are examples of his work.
Brian owns New Scotland Financial and Inglis Gardens. He is a part owner of College Gardens; these companies run rental units around downtown Halifax.
When hosting we try and stay out of our guests way as much as possible. Think of the Novel Stay as your home away from home. We offer a luxurious affordable living situation with full kitchen, laundry, digital cable, wi-fi, and a great location centered in downtown Halifax. Different from most Airbnb listings the inn is a separate building with no live-in staff.
No point in the city is allowed to be higher than the hill, still to this day. A fortress shaped like a star so it can see all angles surrounding the city. Pack a picnic and hang out or take a tour.Halifax Nova Scotia
A great venue for local art and food. Its a popular spot for locals and tourists especially on the weekends. A definite must-see here in Halifax!1209 Marginal Rd Halifax NS B3H 4P8
