The house was a lot of fun, and we enjoyed our stay. Nora was a great host and a very responsive one.
Like other people mentioned, it has a lot of character and "quirky" is the right adjective. The creepy doll room lives up up to the expectations created by its name, but the king size bed makes it more palatable.
Our visit was on a very cold weekend, so we made full use of the fireplace and the hot tub.
The only couple of things to note:
1. The house takes a long time to warm up when you first come in (fire in the fireplace helps a lot).
2. Be ready to take the trash with you in your cars on your way back.
The house was so nice and the music collections were great. The kitchen was spacious. It's close to the ski area, where we enjoyed a lot of time.
Awesome House, Great and responsive host. Loved the quiet and secluded location for a short escape from the city. This is one of the best places I've stayed in upstate NY.
We had a wonderful stay at Stonehaven! The house is in a beautiful location in the Catskills right next to a river. We loved the cozy fireplace, hot tub, funky decor and awesome record collection. The house fit our group of 9 comfortably and the kitchen had everything we needed. Nora was very communicative and and a pleasure to work with.
My friends and I (a group of ten in total) stayed at Stonehaven for a ski weekend at Hunter. The house was great - fun, quirky/shabby chic, creepy (in a good way) and cozy. We cooked and ate big meals together in the large open kitchen, relaxed by the fireplace listening to records and playing board games (one night we watched a movie on the projector), and hung out in the hot tub (we all fit in it at once). Four of the couples stayed in the bedrooms, and one couple stayed in the living room. There was ample space for everyone. Nora was super responsive to all my emails/questions leading up to the stay, which was really helpful. As a result, we didn't have to contact her at all during the stay because we didn't have any major issues, though I have no doubt she would have been responsive if we had. We definitely plan on coming back!
My friends and I rented Stonehaven for a winter ski weekend and it was the best! We spent most of our time in the kitchen cooking and eating delicious meals. The open format with an island and dining table made the kitchen really cozy. We also spent a lot of time in the living room by the fire listening to records - the record collection has a little bit for everyone (Bob Dylan, Wu-Tang, Bill Cosby). The hot tub was great at night.
Overall, the house was very lived-in and thoughtfully decorated. It felt like being in a friend's house while they were away for the weekend. All of the necessities were there, including a few extra blankets and plenty of kitchen stuff. Some of the rooms (especially the doll room!) were very trippy and we appreciated the artsy decor.
I'm excited to come back and see what it looks like during the summer!

Jac and Nora are artists and designers. We own a house in Greenpoint and an old farmhouse up in the catskills. We go back and forth between the city and the mountains. We love indian food, thrift shops, and sitting in front of the fireplace reading comic books.
