Monteverde is a neighborhood adjacent to the center of Rome, just 10 minutes from Trastevere and connected (20 minutes) to Piazza Venezia (the center of Rome) by a rapid public tram.
The area boasts the largest public park in Rome, Villa Pamphili (1,2 km), the Janiculum and Villa Sciarra. There are also major hospitals: S. Camillo (400 meters), Forlanini, Spallanzani, and Baby Jesus.

We needed a place to go the day of.. and Ortensia responded to our message very quickly with availability. We got more than what we bargained for with Ortensia’s place! She was very helpful and inviting and super friendly! As for the space, we’d be hard pressed to find a space better than this anywhere when it comes to any bed & breakfast. From the wraparound balcony, to the strong wifi signal and shower with great water pressure (just a few highlights of the space) the place was great. If you cook, well this is another reason to book with Ortensia – the kitchen has lots of amenities and utensils. Also its only a quick tram ride to the center of Rome. We will definitely book with Ortensia when in Rome again!
We booked both of Ortensia's listings together for a family break to Rome and the fact that we could cook, eat together and enjoy the big roof terrace here was a major plus.
Everyone was very comfortable and the breakfast things and basic supplies provided by the host were much appreciated. All in all a terrific lodging and a highly recommended host.
It was really nice, we were really happy about the room, nice view, a big place, very clean, nice breakfast. Ortensia and Sergio are really nice.
Really recommand it!
Ortensia and her husband were very kind and helpful. The rooms with the kitchen are great, and it's really pleasant to sit at the terrace and enjoy breakfast in the morning. B&B is situated near Trastevere station and it's good location, especially for those who's going to arrive/leave to/from Fiumicino airport.
It's not so difficult to reach historic centre of Rome from here and you can find many bars in the night near Trastevere neighbourhood.
I can recommend these rooms for everyone who's planning a trip to Rome, and I think it's one of the best B&B's that I have seen.
Our 1st visit to Rome was absolutely fabulous; made possible due to the superb hospitality & accommodations by Ortensia and her husband. As I hoped before the reservation, the terrace was the ultimate experience at the bnb. After a hectic arrival into Rome, we were able to relax, unwind, and prepare for our next 2-days activities.
Ortensia was very helpful in directing us on the best trams & buses to take. The 110 panorama bus was only €15 per person; we rode on it 3 circuits around the city. It made snapping photos a breeze ;-)
We plan to return with our parents, and other family and friends.
Ortensia was a perfect host! Her and her husband picked us up after we got lost, drove us to their beautiful home only 10 minutes from the ancient centre of Rome, only for us to find all kinds of goodies, treats, juices and other incredible snacks for our hungry bellies. I would highly recommend staying here (you will also love the view of the wonderful, spacious and well decorated roof top patio!)
Ortensia was great-- she helped us settle in, suggested a few places to go. The place itself was amazing-- we had an apartment to ourselves with a rooftop patio, kitchen with everything we needed, she left us fresh fruit and biscuits and jams every day. She spoke french and italian fluently and her daughter speaks english. Monteverde is located in Trastavere area, which is connected to the centre via a few public transport routes which are generally reliable but a few times the bus took a while, so just plan ahead of time when to leave. Other than that, the location, the apartment itself and Ortensia were all wonderful.
