Crescent Head (voted Australia's best beach by 101 Best Beaches) is surrounded by beautiful national parks, stunning beaches and headlands and is a great holiday, honeymoon or stop-over break on the Sydney to Brisbane route. It is perfect for relaxing, surfing, kayaking, diving, cycling, bird-watching, walking, photography, beach-combing and fishing. So much to do, but many people come just to relax. The reason why generations of families have been coming to Crescent Head.
INHLUZANI SUITE (pronounced in-hloo-zaani', is a Zulu word for young women's breasts named for the lovely mountain range to the NW of your suite) provides relaxed barefoot luxury with modern facilities - it oozes with charm and warmth and comprises an en suite canopied bedroom (queen-size European latex mattress/pillows (rated 4.5/5 by 33 reviews) and crisp cotton sheets) looking onto a sizeable all weather outdoor deck with panoramic views of the mountains, estuary and Crescent Head's world famous sweeping beach.
BATHROOM: the bathroom en suite comprises a high quality separate private shower/toilet/basin, the shower tastefully decorated with Sharon's specially designed mosaic.
PRIVACY: you have privacy in your own suite, but other spaces may be shared with a guest in the other suite if it is occupied.
LOUNGE/DINING/TV: Inhluzani suite opens onto a tastefully furnished lounge/dining/TV room shared with Lambazi Suite with easy access to the deck, kitchenette and laundry. All very private. All very relaxed barefoot luxury.
READING & MUSIC: there is a collection of books and a folder of music CDs and video DVDs for your viewing pleasure during your stay.
WHAT TO EXPECT? A very peaceful, quiet stay. Be woken by the birds or the sea. Crescent Head is fortunately a beautiful 'dead-end' with no through-traffic which makes it quiet and safe. The beach is a short 5 minute walk away, as are many favourite walks and trails. For the more active-minded there is stacks to do! Please ask us for details as we love pointing guests in the right direction!
ACCESS: you have your own private access via a key-pad locking system so you can come and go as you please without disturbing anyone.
OUTSIDE H&C SHOWER: after your long walk or swim feel free to use the outdoor shower, beautifully decorated with another Sharon mosaic design.
SHOPS: All are small and quaint but you can get just about anything you need - baker, pub, restaurants (Chinese, Tai and general fare) superette, fruit shop, bottle shop, service/petrol station, pharmacy, coffee shops, news agency, surf-shop, butchery, post office and dress/gift shops) are within easy walking distance (bit of a climb on the way back!). Chances are your car may remain unused during your stay! Between nearby Kempsey or Port Macquarie all the larger shops and stores are represented.
ACTIVITIES: there is lots to do! Crescent Head is a world famous surf venue and rightly so. But, there is a lot more - it is a paradise for photographers, divers, hikers, runners, cyclists, kayakers and bird-watchers (we can point you to key sites) and a chance to visit beaches, bush walks and headlands where chances are you will be all alone - perfect for that early breakfast or sundowner! Nearby South West Rocks has world class off-shore game fishing.
We can even point you to our 'secret beach' if you are up for a skinny dip or a very quiet time in an amphitheatre-like beach, and a scramble down a grassy slope, all with its own 'hole in the rock' and cave! The only visitor is likely to be the resident circling Sea Eagle.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: only one hour inland and you would think you were in Scotland as you head alongside the magnificent Macleay River (boasting the best wild bass fishing in Australia) toward BellBrook and Armidale - a great day-outing. To the north is beautiful Hathead, South West Rocks, Scotts Head, Macksville (access to the 'Pub with no beer') and quaint Bellingen, while a journey south takes you to Port Macquarie if you want to get to bigger shopping facilities.
Whatever you are keen on, let us know and we will do all we can to point you in the right direction. You can even go for walks on our farm at Austral Eden (Gladstone) or fish the Macleay River from the banks.

Sharon & Sean are excellent hosts; friendly, helpful and charming. They are clearly interested to meet people, but also happy to leave guests to their own devices if guests want privacy.
The Suite is wonderful, spacious and attractive, with amazing sweeping views over the bay, lagoon and mountains from the lounge, terrace and one of the bedrooms. It also has its own private entrance. It would be ideal for a family - the terrace is enclosed and quite safe - or for a group of 4 travelling together. Although we are only 2, we were lucky enough to have the entire place to ourselves, which means the lounge, terrace and kitchen (which are shared between 2 bedrooms) were for our own private use.
The kitchenette is well equipped and there is also a utility area. Sharon also leaves breakfast in the fridge so guests can eat at their own leisure. There is a plentiful supply of coffees, teas, jams and spreads.
Up a hill from the main town but only 3 minutes up! It is perfectly located.
We were really sad that we only had one might to spend and would certainly return. Crescent Head is a beautiful bay, with great waves. The town is fairly quiet and underdeveloped - 2 restaurant choices - but this is also part of its charm. We also saw around 15 Pelicans, which to Brits was pretty exciting!
Thanks so much Sharon & Sean.
