Chances are your car may remain unused during your stay! Between nearby Kempsey (19km inland) or Port Macquarie/Coffs Harbour all the larger shops and stores are represented.
ACTIVITIES: there is plenty to do! Crescent Head is a world famous surf venue and rightly so. But, there is a lot more - it is a paradise for photographers, fishermen (world class deep sea and river/estuary fishing), divers, hikers, runners, cyclists, kayakers and bird-watchers (we can point you to key sites). You can visit beaches and headlands and do bush walks where chances are you will be all alone - perfect for that early breakfast or sundowner! Nearby South West Rocks has world class off-shore game fishing.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: only one hour inland and you would think you were in Scotland as you travel along the windy road alongside the magnificent Macleay River (boasting the best wild bass fishing in Australia) toward Bellbrook and Armidale - a great day-outing. To the north is beautiful Hat Head, South West Rocks, Scotts Head, Macksville (access point to the 'Pub with no beer' a great outing) and quaint Bellingen, while a journey south takes you to Port Macquarie if you want to get to bigger shopping facilities.
Whatever you are keen on, let us know and we will do all we can to help you plan outings.

Interaction with Guests
We like to greet and welcome our guests and introduce them to Shanti Suites and its facilities. We value our guests privacy but are available to help with queries by phone, SMS or email.
LOCATION: Crescent Head (voted Australia's top two beach by the authors of ‘101 Best Beaches’) is surrounded by beautiful national parks, stunning beaches and headlands. It is a great holiday, honeymoon or stop-over break on the Sydney to Brisbane route (4.5 hr north from Sydney; 6hr south from Brisbane and 4.5hr from Byron Bay) on New South Wales’ north coast - perfect for relaxing, surfing, kayaking, diving, cycling, bird-watching, walking, photography, beach-combing and fishing.
So much to do, but many come just to relax - the reason generations of families return each year to Crescent Head, our tiny, beautiful coastal village on the New South Wales north coast.
Other Things to Note
Please bear in mind that being a small coastal village most restaurant & cafe kitchens close quite early.
We live upstairs and in a quiet neighbourhood and ask that guests bear this in mind, thanks!
Inhluzani Suite - sleep on luxury Euro latex mattresses looking out over the mountains, deck, estuary and bay
Sharon and Sean made me feel most welcome to the Shanti Suites. Communication prior to arrival and when I arrived was fantastic, as were the facilities. The apartment is out of this world, with spectacular views, beautiful furnishings and all you could need for a wonderful break away. A highlight was watching the beautiful sunrises from the bed and enjoying a cold beer on the balcony after a full day of surf. The location is perfect, really central so easy to walk to the shops, restaurants, bars and beach. Could not recommend the Shanti Suites more highly, I didn't want to leave. Will definitely be back.
In Crescent Head, this is THE place to stay. Sharon and her husband will greet you with warmth and kind attentions. The accommodation is luxurious and the view is extraordinary. I only wish we would have stayed longer at Shanti suites.
Wow. Five star luxury hotel experience with the coziness of home.
Spotless, sparkling clean. Huge amount of fresh linens and blankets.
Epic views to be enjoyed on an outdoor deck or the bedroom when you wake up or the couch while you enjoy the electronic entertainment.
Delicious treats and tea and coffee provided.
Walking distance to very good pubs and cafes, and the best beach I experienced in Australia.
My advice: stay a minimum of five days. My husband and I are still longing for Shanti suites and Crescent Head, kicking ourselves for not staying longer.
I've stayed in 5 star hotels around the world, yet Shanti Suites blew them all out of the water! Sharon not only has created a beautiful space with fantastic views over Crescent Head, but also showed meticulous care to detail and provided us with a top of the range experience.
I had a great time at Shanti suites
This house has really nice view and beautiful bed decorations!
And Sharon provided some fresh food for breakfast!
We could go everywhere by walk
I recommend here strongly
Thank you Sharon :)
AMAZING stay! Wish we could've stopped in for longer than one night - the suites themselves were amazing, the balcony breathtaking, and the snacks and breakfast provided by Sharon were such a great touch!

About the Host, Sharon
Greetings from beautiful Crescent Head! My husband Sean and I are so lucky to live here - all the things we enjoy and love to share, close at hand - wonderful scenery, national parks, beaches, rivers, bird watching, boating, photography, fantastic walks - phew I better stop there!
The only missing link are our three wonderful adult kids who all live in Perth, WA, but visit us as often as they can. My passion is embroidery and various forms of sewing, which I also teach. I even get some stitching done while kayaking or boating on our magnificent local rivers and creeks while Sean fly-fishes!
I love sharing Crescent Head with others and try to make our guests feel special. We are quite laid back I think so keep things fairly informal but never stop trying to think of ways of making visitors stays with us memorable and relaxing.
When Sean & I travel we like smart informality and friendly folk to deal with at every turn. That is what we try to replicate at Shanti Suites where we have tried to create something we experienced at a lodge on a remote Mozambican island many years ago - barefoot luxury!
Visit us soon!
