The space
Gnome Home and Bird House are duplex studios 400 sq ft each, with private covered decks of 125 sq ft of outdoor living space including a two-person hot tub, electric BBQ, and propane fire table with chairs.. "Make yourself at home" inside, with live-edge touches to accentuate that woodsy feel: 0.3 miles to quaint downtown Packwood with first-class coffee-roaster/two craft breweries/restaurants and food trucks, 10 miles to Mt. Rainier Nat. Park, 19 miles to White Pass Ski Area, and 48 miles to Mt. Saint Helen's crater side at the Windy Ridge Viewpoint. Packwood is in the heart of Gifford Pinchot National Forest & magically visited by Elk. A Packwood traffic jam is caused by visitors jumping out of their cars for photos.

WE CANNOT CONTROL THE WEATHER!! But the covered patio helps!

Heavy rain or snow can cause road closures to national parks and occasionally skiing due to avalanches. Hwy 12 (White Pass Scenic Byway) is a major artery between the I-5 corridor and eastern side of WA, and the state keeps it VERY WELL PLOWED. The Gnome Home is 0.1 mi. from Hwy 12, on the same road plowing rotation as downtown Packwood. Regardless, it is important to carry chains in the winter, because you won't be allowed access to White Pass Ski area without them.

All adults, children, & infants count toward the maximum of 2 occupants.

During high fire season, you must abide by posted BURN BANS issued by the state, county and/or local fire department or fines may be levied! A burn ban means no recreational fires or use of charcoal briquette BBQs.
