Your hosts are a typical Portland couple--Brian is a Portland native, and works in the coffee industry, and will offer you your daily cup or three in a myriad of ways. Shannon is fluent in Danish and Chinese, and practices acupuncture and Chinese medicine at a busy clinic, little Kieran is 2, and likes to kick soccer balls, eat avocados and dance.
Our home is childproofed, and we have a spare pack and play and lots of books and toys to share with our youngest guests.
In addition to coffee and Chinese medicine we enjoy cooking, wine, craft beer, movies, indie music, sporting events, international travel, and always enjoy meeting new people.

No smoking indoors.
Please just be mindful of banging doors when the baby is sleeping-- he takes a nap from 11-2,and goes down around 7 in the evening. However he sleeps very well-- we watch TV, throw dinner parties, live normally while he is asleep.
I didn't get to meet Shannon in person, but she was very nice and helpful through our back and forth messaging. Staying at her place couldn't be more perfect. The room was very comfortable for my friend and I. And everything was nice and clean. The room is in the basement floor of the house and was very private with its own entrance, so we were able to come in as late as we wanted without bothering any of the household. I would definitely stay here again.
Great place. The family was super friendly and house was beautiful. Fairly easy to find and host family was easy to communicate to get details on location, check in time and stuff on the area.
Staying with Shannon & her family was extremely pleasant experience. Their house is beautiful and the guest area is very thought out. There is a great den area outside the bedroom with a big screen tv, magazines, coffee maker, mini-fridge. The bedroom & bathroom were immaculate which definitely made feel comfortable. Shannon & her husband were both extremely friendly & had very good suggestions for restuarants/things to do in the area. Looking forward to coming back!
Shannon was a fantastic host. The room was accurate to the description. My girlfriend and I had a terrific time in Portland and we highly recommend anyone traveling there to stay in the cozy 'yellow room'!

About the Host, Shannon
I'm a Sinologist and Five Element Acupuncturist in private practice in Portland Oregon, and am married to Brian, who does consulting for local coffee and beer companies. We have a gorgeous son, Kieran, born in October of 2011. We are avid travelers, and love to meet new people.
Brian is a coffee snob, and loves cooking and wine tasting. Kieran is obsessed with trains and enjoys music, books, swimming, and eating.
My favorite travel destination is China, and Thailand is a close second. Brian prefers Bali, and would love to eat his way through Italy and France.
