Your hosts are a typical Portland couple--Brian is a Portland native, and works in the coffee industry, and will offer you your daily cup or three in a myriad of ways. Shannon is fluent in Danish and Chinese, and practices acupuncture and Chinese medicine at a busy clinic, little Kieran is 2, and likes to kick soccer balls, eat avocados and dance.
Our home is childproofed, and we have a spare pack and play and lots of books and toys to share with our youngest guests.
In addition to coffee and Chinese medicine we enjoy cooking, wine, craft beer, movies, indie music, sporting events, international travel, and always enjoy meeting new people.
Please let us know your expected arrival time so we can figure out hot to get you keys-- our schedules vary a lot from day to day.

No smoking indoors.
Please just be mindful of banging doors when the baby is sleeping-- he takes a nap from 11-2,and goes down around 7 in the evening. However he sleeps very well-- we watch TV, throw dinner parties, live normally while he is asleep.
Our stay with Brian and Shannon was delightful. We wished we could have stayed longer, as we thoroughly enjoyed the small amount of time we had with their family. The neighborhood is very quaint and quiet; however, it's a great location with a large variety of restaurants very close by. The room was extremely clean as was the bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. Shannon and Brian were extremely flexible and catered to our needs. The only thing we regret from our trip was how short our stay was in Portland. I highly recommend Brian and Shannon's home to all.
My husband and I had a great time staying in the yellow room! The bed was very comfortable and the room was adorable. Brian and Shannon were super friendly and accommodating. They gave us some wonderful recommendations of places to check out and the house is just the perfect distance from the city. We will definitely be staying here again if and when we return to Portland!
Brian showed me around when I arrived and introduced me to the other guests. My room was very comfortable and well appointed as was the bathroom. I appreciated the separate entrance too.
The neighborhood was great. Lots of choices for meals within a comfortable walking distance. The list of local places to eat was very helpful. Parking was easy as well.
This was my first airbnb experience and won't be my last! I was very pleased as to how it all worked out given the short notice I had to find a place to stay on my very first visit to Portland.
Great stay. Very convenient to my destination - Reed College. Room exceeded expectation: comfortable, nicely furnished, exceptionally clean. Safe neighborhood. I didn't use the common spaces since I only stayed one night, but at quick glance they were spacious & well appointed. Perfect for what I needed.
Perfect private room off of a living / TV room. There was coffee and tea for our enjoyment. We stayed one night, very easy all around. Checked in, hung out, then off in the morning to enjoy our day.
I had an awesome experience. This was my first time staying at a private room, I usually only stay for the entire place but I figured why not give it a shot? And it was so wonderful. There was a lot of privacy & the entrance was private as well. It was so great. Would stay again! The bed was so comfortable too it was hard to get up in the morning, but I still managed. Perfect place, quiet neighborhood, simply amazing.

About the Host, Shannon
I'm a Sinologist and Five Element Acupuncturist in private practice in Portland Oregon, and am married to Brian, who does consulting for local coffee and beer companies. We have a gorgeous son, Kieran, born in October of 2011. We are avid travelers, and love to meet new people.
Brian is a coffee snob, and loves cooking and wine tasting. Kieran is obsessed with trains and enjoys music, books, swimming, and eating.
My favorite travel destination is China, and Thailand is a close second. Brian prefers Bali, and would love to eat his way through Italy and France.
