We believe that hospitality means to accompany our guests not only researching "places" but also discovering the complexity and variety of colors, scents, flavors that our land has to offer: a nice basket with organic olive oil of high quality, fresh organic fruits and vegetables and typical sicilian preserves, produced a few miles in the fertile lands of the neighboring and generous family farm Trimarchi Villa Marchese, will be our welcome!
The apartment is located in a well served area, a short walk from a supermarket, a pharmacy, a great bar, tobacconist.
The neighborhood is accessible by car and free parking is permitted. If you prefer only 150 meters from the house there is a large public car parking (€ 1,00/h). The area is full of restaurants, pizzerias and wine bars; strategic place from a logistical point of view: m.200 from the island of Ortigia, rich in historical and cultural sites and within easy walking distance: the Duomo, the Fountain of Arethusa, the suggestive Maniace Castle, the Temple of Apollo and Minerva; m.300 from the bus terminal and the train station, one kilometer from the entrance of the main lines of roads out of the city to the highway to the north, Catania Airport-Taormina, or south, Noto-Ragusa-Marzamemi.
To visit in the city include Greek Theatre (2.5 km), Roman Amphitheater (2,5 km), Ear of Dionysius (2,5 km), Paolo Orsi Museum 2.5 km (where you can see how to make the papyrus), Latomies of Paradise (3 km).

Everything was really great and smooth. They are experienced hosts. One remark: if you are disturbed by traffic noise at night then be aware that the bedroom is quite noisy. The rest of the apt is quite anf the balcony is just great!
The terrace really comes into it's own when the weather's really hot (as it unseasonably was in late October) allowing for leisurely and tranquil lunches outdoors. The terrace is remarkably quiet despite the building being close to the primary bridge out of Ortigia, all of which is easily accessible on foot from the flat. The local restaurant which Barbara recommends is excellent and better value than the more touristic restaurants on the island. Overall, the flat is an ideal location. Internally, provided with everything you need, though TV didn't receive anything via sat box and bedroom a bit cramped with the sloping roof, but nevertheless a great place to stay in Syracusa.
Barbara & Giacomo made us feel extremely welcome despite the fact we had a lengthy delay at Catania Airport which meant that we didn't arrive until late in the evening. They are very good hosts & are happy to be on call to help sort out any problems. The apartment is well equipped, however the air conditioning is only available in the main living area although there is an efficient electric fan for the bedroom. The two terraces are a delightful addition & breakfast al fresco is wonderful! It is extremely well located with easy access to both Ortigia & the Greek/Roman archaeological sites. A car is not essential for enjoying the city although if you wish to explore further afield then it is a must. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Syracuse & would be very happy to stay at the apartment again.
The flat is very lovely and located centrally very close to Ortigia to 5 minutes walk. It is well equiped and the terrace can offered peaceful and nice view diners.
Barbara is such a great host so welcoming. She gave good tips for parking, visiting, drinking and (email hidden)e had some kind attentions during all our stay. I wish all future hosts will be like Barbara and Giacomo!
Barbara is a lovely, friendly host who speaks great English. She helped us with our bags and gave us some great recommendations upon arrival, as well as accommodating us for an extra night when we decided to stay longer in her special flat.
Barbara (who is an architect) has created a wonderful space, converting the loft of a building into something that resembles a cool beach house. With its stylish minimalistic interior, impressive two-tier balcony, comfy couches and powerful air conditioning, the apartment is perfect for the indoor-times of your holiday.
The location is excellent; a stroll in one direction leads to the many restaurants and beautiful square of Ortigia, a walk the other way into Syracuse and you're at some of Sicily's most important historic sites. The beautiful beaches of Aranella and Fontane Bianche are also just a 30 minute bus journey away.
Highly recommend this destination and listing to anyone who is visiting the east coast of Sicily. Thanks again Barbara and Giacamo!
This was simply the best vacation experience ever. Siracusa is a beautiful city, and thanks to Barbara and Giacomo´s helpful local insight, we found lots of stunning sights around the south of Sicily. Our hosts were so kind, and our loft was excellent, clean and inviting! We could not ask for more! Thank you so much B and G for an experience we wont soon forget!
