About this listing
This is a great space, downstairs and just off of the main floor. This space is only available for one night at a time.
The entire property is completely fenced in and very private. This is a room with a very comfortable queen sized bed in a 3 bedroom single family home with ample parking, including a private parking space within the fenced property. There is central heating for the winter months central cooling for the summer.
What we'll provide:
Clean, well decorated space, bedding/towels upon your arrival. Meals are available on a limited basis, but the kitchen is free for you to use, with stove, micro, coffee maker, fridge etc. We do the cleaning of all shared areas (kitchen and bath included), because I'm particular to the cleaning method for sanitation purposes.
This room/space is intended for a one night stay only. Free wifi and cable are included.
No pets are allowed, unfortunately, because I already have two very friendly small dogs and am highly allergic to cats. If you have small children, please look into booking the other space in the home, located upstairs. This queen bed is a little too high for small children and I would be concerned about a small child sleeping that high up. Absolutely no smoking allowed.
A family friendly diverse neighborhood, located very close to St. Joseph's Hospital and the University of Washington Tacoma Campus. We are less than a half of a mile away from downtown Tacoma with many restaurants and lovely sights, including museums, anywhere from the half mile to three within our home. Access to I-5 is directly downhill from this location.
We are extremely close to public bus lines, railway, downtown as well as Greyhound bus depot, and Tacoma Dome.
If you need transportation to the airport, I can reserve a cab for you that will only cost $40, paid directly to the cab driver. The normal rate for transportation from Tacoma to Seatac is around $75. I can also tell you how to easily get to the airport via public transportation.

All common areas are downstairs including the kitchen, living room, sitting room, bathroom, yard space, and other areas of relaxation/enjoyment.
Interaction with Guests
We do accommodate guests upon arrival to show them around the house as well as make sure you are settled in nicely. With a one day/night stay, you won't receive too much interaction from us as we understand that you probably just need to rest and be on your way. However, we are available for conversation, meal sharing, and will do our best to answer any questions you have about the area. Please read the cancellation policy very closely as there are no exceptions. It puts me in a very uncomfortable position to ask you face to face to review the cancellation policy due to changes in your travel arrangements.
This is a family friendly, up and coming neighborhood with access to convenient stores, groceries, post office, downtown, and the freeway.
There are two bus routes within a block of the house.
Other Things to Note
This is not a hostel and is a very clean family operated Bed and Breakfast.
Due to the fact that I found an illegal substance after my recent guests, I feel the need to stress that this is a NON-SMOKING family home. Neither cigarettes or drug use is tolerated. It doesn't matter whether or not you have a green card.
If I even suspect that you're using drugs, you will be forced, not asked...to leave the premises.
TaNeashia was a real life saver for us, when our travel plans suddenly changed (owing to a friend's family crisis) leaving us in desperate need of lodging, readily accessible by public transit, in Tacoma, a town we hadn't planned to visit. TaNeashia will vacate her own bedroom for such occasions (which is why that particular room is only rented one night at a time).
As we were on the main floor (she rents other Airbnb rooms upstairs) we had ample opportunity to interact with her family, including her teenage sons, who were friendly and helpful. (We also spent much time petting her two little fur ball dogs) TaNeashia herself is a real gem. Aside from being amiable and accommodating to our needs, she is a fascinating person with a career working in a small non profit organization dedicated to making the world a better place.
Basically, her place was perfect for our own particular needs.
TaNeashia and her family were friendly and accommodating, the room is cozy and comfortable. The place is convenient with nice food and gas station near you.
TaNeashia was a very accommodating hostess. The place was just what I needed after a long day of traveling. We enjoyed conversation like old friends. I recommend this place for anyone needing a simple place to rest in Tacoma. Oh and there is an amazing fried chicken place a block away!
TaNeashia was accommodating to our day-of request, and had a room clean and ready by the time we arrived later that evening. Her son was nice and showed us to our room and where the bathroom was. Our needs were pretty minimal, just a place to stay for the night. We were happy with our experience.
Wow, TaNeashia and her wonderful children Onyx and Topaz were gracious host. They made me feel welcomed. The boys were so considerate, they had welcome snacks and water, towels and extra blankets.
Now don't think you're going to be staying at resort or hotel, it's a house. The home is a craftsman style older house, maybe close to 100 years with character and older lived in feel. I felt as if I was at my grandmothers house so that made me smile.
I was able to work on my computer with no interruptions, I slept good and I felt very safe and comfortable. The next morning that had coffee waiting for me.
Lots of places to eat close by so great choice if you need a place to crash for the night.
Tanseashia was a wonderful host and was happy to have me stay at her place for two nights. She has a wonderful old house with two little cute dogs, and two very polite young sons. Great stay!
This was our first Airbnb experience and it was exceptional. TaNeashia was very accommodating and very pleasant to talk with.

About the Host, TaNeashia
Hello there! First of all, thank you for taking a look at the offered accommodations! I'm originally from San Diego and have been living in Tacoma since 2007. I LOVE Tacoma, weather and all. I'm an Executive Assistant/Project Management Point Person for a small non-profit and am extremely happy with what I do. I'm big on family and friends as well as community and this is why I decided to start hosting on Airbnb. I spend my leisure time primarily traveling with friends or out and about in the community with a friend. I'm a HUGE foodie! Lol I can point out alot of not so well known places in the Tacoma area where you can indulge in awesome food and drinks for reasonably moderate or very low prices. I'm aware of a variety of happy hour and entertainment spots in the city that are within a 3 mile radius from my house. Nice, right!?!?! As both an Airbnb guest and host, I think the primary words to describe me would be clean, considerate, and generous. I like to travel in a way that is somewhat planned and then wing the rest of the trip, doing whatever there is on impulse or as the opportunity arises. I do happen to have a few life mottos and one of them is: "Life is what you make of it."
Safe and happy travels!
