You can´t get more central than this! A lovely apartment right in downtown Lisbon, seconds away from Praça do Comércio, Lisbon´s monumental Riverside Square. Completely renovated, the apartment is in a building with over 200 years of history, in what is known as Pombaline Downtown (Baixa Pombalina), one of the city´s famed attractions. It is on the fifth floor but don't worry for there´s an elevator, after the first few (20) steps!
It´s a small studio apartment, very charming and cozy, perfect for two.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a double hot plate, microwave oven, electrical kettle, toaster and a coffee pods machine, as well as all the utensils you might need for breakfast or for some light cooking. Wi-Fi is also available, as well as a hair dryer, an iron and a small ironing board.
Although it's a studio apartment, there is a very well defined sleeping area, as well as a living and dining area, and also a spacious place to put your bags and other belongings.
The bathroom has a walk in shower and fresh clean towels and bed linens are also provided.
Being on the fifth floor, the apartment has a balcony where you can see more of Lisbon, and some of its famous rooftops.
Being in the Lisbon center means that you will be minutes away from all that you may need for your stay here, everything from restaurants (Portuguese food is one of the best in the world!) to coffee shops (our coffee and pastries included!), laundries, minimarkets, pharmacies, shops, in a mix of traditional, vintage and modern commerce.
Most of Lisbon´s best attractions are located around Rossio and Praça do Comércio, the whole Baixa de Lisboa, on the hill leading up to St. George´s Castle, Alfama and Mouraria, not forgetting Chiado and all the nightlife attractions in Bairro Alto, full of restaurants, bars and Fado houses. All of this within walking distance! And if you wish to go to the other side of our beautiful river Tagus, to Belém, Sintra or any of the numerous beaches around Lisbon, you have all the transportation means you will need just seconds or minutes away, from buses to trams, trains or subway lines, just take your pick!

My work: Translator, Urban Arts and Crafts, full time mom.

Let´s see... I am 44, I freelance as a translator, I love urban crafts, everything that is handmade. I also like recycling furniture, decorating and renovating, which me and my husband did in both apartments, from all the construction to all the furnishing and decorating (hubby is an architect, so that helps!).
I have two boys, 10 and 14 years old, and I chose freelancing and urban crafts as a way to build my schedule around them, instead of the opposite.
As most Portuguese women, I enjoy having guests and I want them to feel as comfortable and welcomed as possible in our little Downtown Houses!
During the time we spent renovating the apartments, I fell in love with Lisbon, looking at the city more like a tourist than like someone in a hurry to run an errand. It has been a wonderful experience that I hope will just get better and better!
