This is Thoreau country; an entire addition to rent, a great yoga studio, artists or writers studo, office for a photographer.... attached to a large country home overlooking 40 acres and the Sudbury River. A one mile walk into picturesque Concord Center as well as the train to Boston and Cambridge. Walking trails and bike rides abound. Less than a mile to Walden Pond, and three to the Old North Bridge. The South Bridge Boat house near-by rents canoes and provides rides on a pontoon. While so close to town, one feels like they are in the country.
The range of historic sites includes:
*Old North Bridge
*Sleepy Hollow Cemetary
Cabin Site of Henry David Thoreau
Minute Man Park
The studio/loft space available has a bathroom and living area downstairs with large factory windows and sweeping views of the river. There are two sleeping areas, one down, one upstairs.
The couch makes into a comfortable Queen bed. The ceiling is 18' high. The loft with a king bed and spacious river views, is more than 300sq feet with a deck. Air conditioning and ceiling fans. There is no kitchen. Access the kitchen would be available depending on current tenants.
. This loft and studio must be thought of like a hotel room, you must go out for food. You can leave from a separate entrance and have complete privacy. Available for monthly or longer rentals, can be used in conjunction with rental of entire estate as well.
The house is a beautiful one mile walk to the train and Starbucks in one direction, and the well know Verrill Farms and route 117 in the other with excellent freshly grown and cooked farm foods.
This is also a sought after area for people on biking trips, or who like to cross country ski or even kayak. We have a boat dock on the property if you want to bring a kayak or rent one from the Concord Boat House.
I stayed in the loft for a week during the fall season. It was simply gorgeous inside and out... the fact that Thoreau used to live and write on this land makes it that much more special. Karen and Lauren were very friendly and accommodating. I'd love to stay again and would recommend their place to anyone.
Paradise! I loved staying here. I miss it so much and hope that I can return someday. I loved looking out at the snow, birds, deer and cows in the morning. The studio is spacious and you just can't beat the view. I loved making coffee in the morning and sitting in the sun that beamed thorough the amazing floor to ceiling windows. A friendly dog visited me from the neighbor's everyday.
Absolutely one of the most wonderful views in New England is from the terraces and windows of this period house with its lovely addition. It is a very special treat to be able to "Air B&B" in Karen & Lauren's jewel of a home. Karen made us welcome and comfortable.
This would be an excellent place for a family reunion or other special event--it would also be an elegant wedding location.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Artist Loft with Karen and Lauren. Karen was a very gracious and helpful hostess, eager to make us comfortable in any way she could. The accommodations are true to the photos ~ the loft itself is very spacious and has beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset above the meadow. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these accommodations or these hosts to anyone in the airbnb community, and I hope to have the chance to return some day!
