You will either meet me or my helper to get keys and key card. As far as any doormen/neighbours concerned you are my friends visitng :-)
If i'm here ill be as involved or uninvolved as you like.
The Helper/Maid is full time, works 8-7pm Mon-Fri and ½ day Saturday and lives out of the apartment. Essentially she is there to look after the dog while I’m at work and takes care of all the household chores.
My dog is best dog in the world; he’s a Beaglier (cross Beagle/Cavalier) which means he is very intelligent (Beagle) and very sooky (Cavalier) and called Albert. The helper looks after him daily and he sleeps in the bedroom with me.
Tai Hang - this old HK district known as the “Mechanics Neighbourhood” is set out in a grid formation and is currently going through radical redevelopment on both property and social fronts which has attracted the attention of local and international professionals and young families desperate for living space in this area. This influx of people and money has resulted in many new cool bars, bistros, restaurants, independent businesses etc. opening up to compliment the local businesses, temples etc. that have been trading and established here for years and still thriving today. This collaboration of “old meets new” in this funky neighbourhood has created a new unique Soho experience not to be missed. Whether you decide to stay with me or not definitely put Tai Hang in your itinerary so you can samples this interesting neighbourhood full of history, colour and culture with a modern twist and cutting edge feel, as it’s sure to disappear over the coming years!
The Day/Night Life – everything is 1-5 mins away, seriously it’s all on your door step, Victoria Park, HK Central Library, HK Football Stadium, Tennis courts, Swimming pools (in/outdoor), Temple, 7eleven’s, bottle shops, Indian, Japanese, Thai, Italian, Vietnamese, International, local, wine bar, bistros, restaurants, breakfast joints, street food, minimarts, supermarkets….bla bla bla
You are smack bang in the middle of Causeway Bay and Tin Hau (Electric Road) both have MTR links (AKA Metro/Tube) 5/10 mins and you have access to the full MTR system for HK and Kowloon. The main bus stop with busses to everywhere on the island is 2 mins away. The Taxis congregate right outside the apartment complex or on the main road (Tung Lo Wan Road) 30 seconds away. There is even a non-stop bus to the airport form the bus station. Or you get MTR to Airport Express (10 mins) for in town check in then the train to Airport…..easy peesy!
thanks mark！we had a very good experience in hk! Albert is the sweetest dog in the world:) we love him so much!
That was a pleasure to stay at Mark's place. Mark welcomed us very warmly. He is a very easy-going guy and I definitively recommend this place.
Mark was a perfect host! he is friendly and easy to get along with, the apartment is lovely and very comfortable...and I totally fell in love with Albert!!
The area is also a good area with a few good bars, and isonly a couple of stops from central. So great location perfect host and a lovely introduction to the big HK!!
Mark was a great guest.
It was nice he always responded to my messages.
You can get quick answers when you need them.
He was so nice and considerate and his room was lovely.
Thanks for a great stay, Mark.
Spent a great week in Hong Kong staying with Mark and his adorable dog, Albert. The flat is cosy and very clean with a modern kitchen and bathroom which has a great rain shower! During our time here we felt very comfortable and at ease and Mark allowed us to use his kitchen freely including the washing machine.
The sofa bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space for two and sometimes three when Albert fancied a cuddle!
Overall a great flat within walking distance of Shops, MTR and some good places to eat. Mark was a brilliant, friendly host who even took us to some local hot spots for
Dim Sum and hot pot. His helper, Cecile was also very friendly and pointed us in the right direction for the nearest MTR.
Would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a clean, comfortable and affordable stay in Hong Kong!
Cheers for the review guys…..was great to have you stay and sorry I did not get to see you off as I was at bootcamp working off the excesses of the weekend. Safe travels for the rest of your trip and hope you have some great adventures ahead of you. Always welcome back if you pass HK again
I stayed with Mark two nights. I arrived on a Saturday afternoon. Mark was waiting for me. The apartment was small but very comfortable. A super shower and bathroom. Big tv and couch to put the feet up.
It was like being at home. The apartment is in a very good area with a lovely selection of bars and restaurants.
Mark himself was a cool guy. Relaxed, funny and just a lovely host.
Word of warning though - probably be good if you were a dog lover. Albert is this super friendly beagle who may want to sleep on top of you. I do and loved the fact he was flapping around.
Five start accommodation with a really warm and friendly guy.
Padraig......was good to meet you mate and maybe next time we will get you to the real footy! love your comment about Albert and guests having to be dog lovers as its so true and he loves a snuggle with just about anyone ;-) feel free to hit me up if your passing through again....all the best mate.
Mark was an awesome guy and his place was super cozy and clean. His dog, Albert, was even friendlier if that is even possible. We actually booked the day of, yet everything worked out perfectly. Mark replied promptly and by night we had a place to sleep smack dab in the middle of funkayyy town. Perfect location, close to the MTR and Bus station. Tis' within walking distance of anything you want. Also, it's about a 10 min or so walk to Din Tai Fung which is all you really need to know. The place was great. If I'm back in HK anytime soon, I'll for sure going to hit Mark back up.
Mark is a great guy, very down to earth, easy to talk to and have some drinks and laughs with. He made everything very easy for us, and we could come and go as we pleased. He was also helpful with recommendations, and always available on phone if we should have any questions. Apartment had nice facilities, and the area was really good with a good variety of restuarants, cafees, and some small funny shops. Close to metro and easy to get around. So all in all a very very good stay!
Cheers Sophie……..You guys were great guests to have as I felt we were on the same wave length in terms of enjoying the spoils of Hong Kong on a weekend! If you guys ever need a place to crash in HK in the future then by all means hit me up and I’d be more than happy to accommodate maybe see in you Shanghai soon!
Mark is an excellent host and I've enjoyed my stay for a week! His apartment is new and clean, located in one of my favourite area in HK Island, quiet but walking distance to everything! Restaurants, supermarket, Victoria Park, buses and subway (email hidden)l are nearby! Mark is also very accommodating and super friendly...I had some problem with the reservation at the beginning but he kindly helped me through, he even let me walk his lovely dog Albert everyday!
