The Sparrow House has been updated and decorated with vintage flair. Across from the river, it is one of three cottages in a compound, in one of Bend's best neighborhoods; it has a fire pit, complimentary bikes, hot tub access and a large fenced yard.
An authentic Bend Mill Cottage that has kept it's original charm while being brought into the future with all the basics to make your stay a happy one. Top of the line beds and linens, washer, dryer, dishwasher, high speed internet, two tv's and dvd players, and cable. Decorated with original art, fun furniture, and flea market finds it is a delightful, bright space.
There are complimentary townie bikes and mountain bikes provided for guests of all three cottages, along with inner tubes, life jackets, and sand toys, all stored in our boat house. There is a hot tub shared by the guests of the three cottages. The cottage has it's own fire pit, BBQ and off street parking.

Our Christmas stay at Sarah's cottage could not have gone better! The location was perfect: it is in a quite neighborhood, yet within a short walk to Safeway, a couple of breweries, and coffee shops! There is also a lovely park on the river practically next door. The cottage itself was immaculate. The gas fireplace was a highlight! Our dog absolutely loved the huge fenced yard where he could run around in the snow.
We fell in love with Bend and would love to stay here again during our (hopefully numerous) trips back!
The cottage is very well designed -- impeccable color and pattern styling. We very much enjoyed our stay. We would definitely like to try one of the other cottages on the property next time.
After receiving the basic instructions email from Sarah's assistant, we had no problems with our arrival. All the remaining information we needed was contained in a handy "cottage user's guide." So we never actually met or spoke with anyone when arriving or departing. This is not typical of rental properties in our experience, but some people really like that kind of sparse interaction.
The location is fantastic, and the neighborhood is among the most charming in Bend -- not like the new, characterless, golf course developments that are cropping up everywhere. The weather was a bit cool and wet, so we never had a chance to use the bikes, fire pit, or hot tub...definitely next time!
The cottage is well-appointed with all the appliances and dishes you might need, even some basic condiments. Be sure to bring your own coffee if you're not planning on visiting one of the many local coffee houses when you wake up. Frequent travelers are also reminded to bring their own shampoo and bath/hand soap.
There aren't any pictures of the bathroom, so also just be aware that it's small and cute. If you're over 6' tall, you might feel a little uncomfortable.
Overall, it's a great property and an excellent home base for your stay in Bend.
Beautiful little place. Perfectly clean and every detail seemed so well thought through. Loved the firepit in the yard. Awesome location too very close to the best in Bend. Would definitely stay here again.
The cottage was perfect, it was beautifully designed and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay in Bend - including cruiser bikes, a BBQ and a fire pit! The only downside was having to leave :(
Great location!! Was great to have a place with fenced-in back yard for our dogs! Had everything we needed from grill outside, washer dryer and great porch. We could walk to lots of great restaurants, kayaking rental, and trails. Can't wait to come back.
We loved our stay at the Sparrow House! It was perfect for me, my husband, and our toddler. With it's comfy beds, bright, spacious kitchen, and giant yard with plushy green grass, this spot was perfect for our week-long summer vacation. The kitchen was outfitted with nice cookware, which made making meals easy and enjoyable. The entire house was clean, cozy, with charming decor, and it is located in the ideal spot for accessing all that Bend and the Cascade area has to offer. Sarah and Anna were very responsive and easy to get ahold of. We felt like we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I definitely recommend this house for anyone looking for a home away from home in Bend. We look forward to a chance to stay there again. Thanks, Sarah and Anna!

My husband and I and our three children live on a small farm outside of Bend with a passel of dogs, a cat and two horses. I am an interior designer in Bend and love to restore and save older homes.
