Pre-1906 earthquake victorian apartment in the heart of the Lower Haight. Tall ceilings, hardwood floors, large living room, dining room and views from the kitchen and bathroom. Decorated with vintage and antique treasures that really make this a standout San Francisco apartment.
Apartment has wifi and cable and there is a laundromat right across the street if needed.
Shared bathroom with claw foot bathtub and shower. The kitchen is small, yet fully stocked with utensils and appliances. We have an Arrowhead purified water dispenser for all guests staying in our house.
Large living room with seating/tv/views of haight st.
The private bedroom is large and has the following: a very comfortable full size mattress, dresser, desk, chair, end tables and closet with hangers.
Towels and washcloths included.
This is a top floor apartment, and the bedroom is set back from the street front, so although this is located on a bustling city street, there is almost no noise pollution etc. to worry about.
The location is as close to ideal as one could hope for in this vibrant city. Located just a couple blocks from major underground muni stops and only half a block from major bus lines, it is easy to get to any other part of the city whether it be the mission for food and shopping or the financial district for business. Walking distance from Haight Ashbury, the Castro, Nopa, the Mission etc. Blocks from Alamo square park, the painted ladys, duboce park, dolores park, and much more.
The room accommodates one person only, no unexpected guests please!
This is a four bedroom apartment and there are currently two people living here. One is a 65 year old woman(Jan) who has lived in this place for close to 20 years and is responsible for having created this unique and welcoming space in one of San Francisco's treasured victorians. The other is a 25 year old man(Aaron) who works as a designer/buyer for a clothing house based out of SF. Both of us are very open-minded and helpful whether you need a recommendation (email hidden) or just simple directions. We both work outside of the house and maintain busy schedules, but also enjoy our time at home. Aaron is often times away in New York City and it is not uncommon to have another Airbnb guest in his room.

As the apartment is over 100 years old, it does lack modern insulation so in the winter months it does tend to be chilly indoors and we use space heaters to heat rooms etc.
The apartment is always immaculate as both of us living here make an effort to keep it that way.
Street parking only, can be difficult to find a spot during peak parking hours.
The room accommodates one person only.
I loved my stay with Jan. Flat was as in the profile. Jan is relaxed and fun.
Jan & Aaron's place is awesome .. Just like in the pictures .. Extremely convenient to downtown / mission & plenty of bars / cafés around.
Would love to come back & stay here again.
As a host Jan went above and beyond the call of duty, even assisting me when I came down with a cold in mid-trip in March, 2014. Her kindness, friendliness, and outgoing personality for sharing about the city and its history, while not being intrusive on privacy, added to my trip. The third floor for guests is roomy, quiet, bright, clean, airy and comfortable; the furnishings and appointments themselves entertaining. The wireless WIFI works well and was upgraded while I was there. The TV room is cozy with a large selection of channels. This room/house is centrally located for every city neighborhood and tourist site, and use of public transportation to everywhere, including the airport, guided by your smart phone, tablet, or laptop makes it fast, efficient, and fool proof. About anything guests typically need is right on the block or nearby. A stay at this Haight St. home allows you to relax and rest in comfort and concentrate on exploring one of our great American cities. Thanks Aaron and Jan.
Jan was a warm and welcoming host, the room quiet and clean, the bed warm and comfy. The street scene can be a bit off-putting at first but guests should reserve judgement until they get upstairs, meet Jan and see the apartment--it's a world apart from three floors below.
Great chance to experience living inside of one of San Francisco's famous Victorians, and situated in my fav neighborhood of Lower Haight and Duboce Triangle.
Jan (didn't get to meet Aaron) (email hidden) and shared lots of stories about the local area and San Francisco's counter culture days :)
Did not meet Aaron but Jan was such a great hostess! She's very kind and with a lot of interesting stories to tell! The room was clean and comfortable. The place is quiet and in a great neighborhood.
Thanks Jan for being (email hidden)!
The room was clean, the location was perfect, and the hostess, Jan, was full of great stories and kindness. I had a wonderful time and would recommend this flat/private room to anyone.
Jan is very nice and hospitable and makes you feel right at home. The house is clean and quiet.
