The space
As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a bright and airy open living space with an unobstructed panoramic view of the lake and mountains. Take advantage of our kayaks and fishing poles with the lake as your backyard! When you're not out on the water, grill up a feast on the bbq, cast your line from the lower deck, gather around the fire pit for s'mores under the stars, or simply just relax and soak in the views from the comfort of the couch!

DOGS
Please add your pup to the booking - Our pet fee is $100 for one well trained dog. To avoid extra cleaning charges, pups must not be left alone in the house, kept off furniture, and picked up after. We provide bags + an outdoor bin for your convenience.
THE BEES 🐝
A lovely community of bees inhabit the exterior stonework of the chimney above the roofline. While they are generally docile and stay above roof level, we advise guests with bee sensitivities to take necessary precautions. We strive to maintain a harmonious coexistence with nature and appreciate your cooperation in respecting our natural habitat. #savethebees
PARKING + ACCESS
There is one parking space inside the fenced property and additional parking directly in front of the fence. Access to our cottage involves descending an original stone staircase equipped with railings (shown in pics).
BOATS + LAKELIFE
There is a boat launch conveniently located 2 doors down. Bring your buoys + rope and tie up to our private dock for the duration of your stay!
If you’re staying with us in the summer you may see midges (lake flies). They can resemble mosquitos but rest assured they are harmless, non-biting, and do not carry disease. Bug zappers are provided but please use the screen doors and dim/turn off lights to help keep them away.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire home with the exception of a locked owners closet, garage, and RV parked on the premise.

Lake:
Clear Lake is a natural lake and subject to algae blooms, typically in July and August. The lake can be accessed by kayak or boat even when swimming is not advised. Blooms are usually localized so you can still travel by boat or car to a different part of the lake without a bloom. Our location of the lake is nice and deep with a good current so while it is unlikely there will be a bloom during your stay, it is impossible to predict. In extreme heat you may see a heavier presence of algae around the dock - this is normal and not all algae is harmful so please do your research and use your best judgment.

The property owner and host are not liable for any injury, illness, loss, theft, or damage to persons or property during the rental period. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of outdoor areas, water features, recreational equipment, and interactions with wildlife or natural terrain. Guest(s) agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the owner, host, and affiliated parties from any claims arising from their stay, to the fullest extent permitted under California law.
