About this listing
The Cabana is a 1BR/1BA apartment just steps away from some of the best surf on the planet. It is 300 sq. ft.efficient, the bedroom with two twins, access to owner's pool and beach and private patio. The Cabana adjoins the garage of our ocean front home, named See Shack. We are located in Hacienda Iguana, one of Nicaragua’s premier gated golf resort developments. Our Golf Membership allows you greens fee, cart and clubs for $30/person. There are few rentals closer to the beach than this one. You can wake up, check the surf and then go get tubed.
Unlike Costa Rica or El Salvador, this small area of Nicaragua has year round deep water swell and 300+ days a year of all 24 hour offshore winds blowing in from Lake Nicaragua. No matter what kind of board you ride, there are lefts, rights, and at least 8-10 breaks in the area just for you. Two of the best, Colorado and Panga Drops are on the beach just outside your front door.
We know your vacation time is precious, and Patty and I live in the main house on Playa Iguana’s beautiful white sand beach and we can help ensure that your stay with us is perfect. You can rent your own car or if you like, we can arrange for our trusted bilingual driver to pick you up at the airport, take you grocery shopping, sightseeing and deliver you to your home away from home.
Plus there is more than just great surf available. In addition to sunset beach walks and drinks, we can show you birds, monkeys and wildlife on jungle and river walks. An hour’s walk down the beach through Playa Amarilla and you’ll find yourself in the little fishing village of Gigante enjoying fresh lobster and an ice cold beer. Full or half-day tours, horseback rides or boat trips to fish or explore more remote surf breaks are a bargain and easily arranged. Panga Vista even has its own Golf Club Membership, allowing you to play on our 10-hole course at reduced rates. Whatever you need, we will do our best to make it happen.
Or you can relax with a good book. The Cabana has A/C, wireless internet, satellite TV and drinking water. The kitchen is modern and includes everything you need for meal preparation. If you do not feel like cooking, Don Elroy’s restaurant and bar is onsite.
Great surf, comfortable beach front accommodations, loads of activities in one of the most beautiful spots in the world -- all at a great price. Please contact us if we can answer any questions or help in any way.

Your cabana is adjoining our home's garage. We request mutual respect and privacy. Your guests should leave at dusk. You may use our pool, but only you. You can also access the beach through our yard.
This is a very reasonable rental for one, or two persons, max. capacity.
This is a wonderful place to stay. It is simple and conveniently located. Patty was helpful with airport transportation.
Patty and Jack were awesome hosts! They made us feel like at home. The cabana has everything you need, including a private bathroom, a full kitchen, private parking, AC, internet, and a living room with cable TV (which we honestly didn't use). I could definitely stay there again if I visit the area again... Thanks Patty and Jack for the good times!!
Patty was not here during our visit, but her friends who were staying at the house were very helpful. Patty was easy to reach through email and set up a ride (with a wonderful driver!) to the house for us. This was definitely helpful as the house was very remote and would probably have been difficult to describe to just any cab driver. Definitely bring supplies with you because there aren't any stores, and your own vehicle would be helpful. Also, there is no wifi in the room, you must go to the common area to use it. Overall a good stay.
Patty and jack's See Shack was far more than we could have imagined! Beach front location on the best beach we've been on while in the tola area of Nicaragua. We were able to walk out the back yard to surf, swim, ride horses and then rinse off in outdoor showers, jump into a cool pool and all on the premises. The pool and ac were added benefits which only enhanced our experience. The caregivers staying at the house while patty and jack were away were very gracious hosts. They helped answer any questions we had and provided lots of recommendations for places to visit, surf, eat, drink, who to call to get fresh fish delivered to us and pick up souvenirs. The casita had everything we needed so we were able to cook all meals if we wanted. The place was cleaned daily and grounds were maintained daily by wonderful and friendly staff. We couldn't have dreamt up a better place! We will be back!!! Thank you again to patty and jack for sharing their incredible space with us. Jenn and Scott
The See Shack was wonderful. The place is beautiful and the location could not be better. The pool is rely great to have access to.
We could not have asked for better hosts than Patty and Jack. Even before we arrived, they went above and beyond to assist us and make us feel comfortable. They helped us set up transportation to and from the Cabana and for our day trip to San Juan Del Sur (Yasmil and Javier) who were fantastic! Everyone was so friendly, and we felt safe and welcomed the entire time. The cabana was small but perfect for my boyfriend and I. We had everything we needed! Located right in front of Panga drops, my boyfriend was just steps away from surf. Jack even set us up with the right people people to go offshore fishing one day - which was amazing! We had an incredible trip, and Patty and Jack made it the best trip we ever had! They are a wonderful couple with a beautiful place in paradise!
You cannot be much closer to the beach! The shack was perfect for the two of us. Patty and Jack were fantastic hosts, and were responsive when we needed to restock or repair something. They were gracious and generous, offering the use of their pool and surf equipment. For these reasons, it is very well priced—our friends rented a place nearby and paid twice as much, were far from the beach, and had to rent surf equipment. We had so much fun: leisurely coffee on the patio, swinging in the hammock, walking on the beach, and hanging out at the beach club. Be sure to head north and take the hike up and around to a secluded beach, then walk back around the rocks (at lower tide only!). Thanks so much for a great Nicaraguan experience!
