Guest Access

Room is so big it's practically it's own apt! So be as social or unsocial as you like :) Big walk in area with beautiful antique rug and vintage couch, really nice glass computer/work desk, lofted chill area with two lounge chairs and coffee table, vintage lamp, and dresser. Then separate lofted sleeping area with a queen futon mattress. Even has it's own mini fridge. What more can you ask for!

Interaction with Guests

I may or may not be present and there are five other mates in the flat to communicate with, conversate with and hang out if availability permits :) we love having out of towners and meeting new and interesting people!

The Neighborhood

In between the Montrose and Morgan stops off the L train a short 12 minute commute to Union Square in Manhattan a major hub train station that can get you pretty much Anywhere within NYC. Plenty of great bars, coffee shops, and restaurants. Very safe at All hours, and even a new great vintage clothing store right on the corner that's actually very fair priced!

  • Rico and the McKibbin St crew are fantastic! Rico (email hidden) and very welcoming. We barely crossed paths during my stay as I was so busy, but he was always available when needed and happy to help out with anything you might need. The room is very spacious and you feel like you have your own little split level studio, with your own couch and fridge downstairs. Although there's a few people living here, it was always very quiet and clean, and the other housemates are just as friendly as helpful too. There's also 2 very adorable cats that don't make a single noise!
Location wise is great - I caught the subway around a LOT and the L line is literally 2 min away. The neighbourhood is friendly and you're surrounded by other warehouses, great cafés and bars, vintage stores (email hidden) store just down the road. The area has escaped much of the gentrification that neighbouring Williamsburg suburbs seen, which is a nice thing to come back to after a long day out in crazy NYC. Would recommend Rico to anyone, especially if you're looking to get a sense of what it's like to really live here.

  • Rico is very nice and cool man. We had a good stay in his cool furniture & arts place. His cats are very cute. And the place is near the subway, just about five mins walking. Quiet and safe.

  • Perfect district. Perfect host & perfect weather! Rico's house is the perfect combination for 3days in New York.
We were two persons. So we took the large room. Rico's place is unique and very nice to live in! Thanks again Rico!

  • Rico was the most lovely Gentleman ever! When we had arrived he ordered a pizza for us with his mobile and on the second day he took us to one of New York's best Clubs ever. The flat is amazing, we had our own spacious and private room and were also allowed to use the kitchen. He shared dinner with us, so we did with him. So glad to have found him and his flat. We had allot of fun with also the other flatmates and got to know people from all over the world. It was just perfect!
    Thank you so much Rico!!!

  • Rico's s really great guy with an absolutely stunning place to stay, that suited me down to the ground. My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer.
The space I had was a large room on two levels with a low futon style bed in one corner of the mezzanine with a cozy chair and occasional table. Below was a useful work space that I didn't make use of, but probably would have if I'd been there longer.
Rico was really friendly and helpful, and I'd definitely stay again, and be a bit more prepared to party.

  • Rico was great and his roommates were super friendly & welcoming. I was in town for an art exhibition and Rico plus two of his roommates came out to support! Felt like I had an instant family in NYC and I'd definitely stay here again.

  • Rico is awesome and his home is amazing. I will absolutely be staying here again next time I need a room. Not only did I have a fun, comfortable stay but Rico and his roommates were great company too.

  • This is my first experience with airbnb. I choose Rico's place because of the unique pictures of his artistic loft. But not only the loft is unique - also the host! Rico is a wonderful person and I enjoyed talking to him a lot. He was very helpful and let us feel very much like at home. I (email hidden) with my 13 years old son- which was also no problem. It was our first trip to New York and I am glad everything just worked out so well. The subway is very close, nice place to get good and cheap ice-coffee and homemade alfachores right next to it

  • I spend 10 days with Rico and the others and I had a great time. Everybody was super-friendly and I was feeling more like one of the flatmates rather than just a temporary guest.
The apartment is very close to both Montrose Av. and Morgan Av. subway lines (10-15 minutes to Manhattan) and there's a good selection of cafes, restaurants etc. 2-3 minutes walking distance.
I highly recommend you to stay at Rico's.

  • Rico was the perfect host <3 and the whole crew was incredible with great stories in a fun and very familiar environment.
Their loft in Brooklyn was absolutely wonderful, very artsy with a amazing energy. The located is fantastic, that is just steps away from the L train station - very easy going to Manhattan or Williamsburg.

Rico was incredibly accommodating, he is always readily available if needed - he saved my life a few times. Always been very inspiring, sweetheart, friendly and gentle. Basically one of the most wonderful people I have met in my life. Your company was very special!

I highly recommend it and want to return soon ;)
