I booked last minute and Rico got back to me promptly, the space was unique, iconic, and a "Must Stay" It's def instagram worthy. It is the way to explore the true side of Brooklyn. Hotels are so sterile..this loft was worth the adventure. Minutes to Restaurants, coffee shops, and markets. Easy to commute via cab or metro. Got comfy in the kitchen and for an artist or someone who appreciates would find this place inspiring. I describe this space as craft out of the chaos of emotion and language, something artful. I will def be booking again in the near future.
Hey, Rico is super cool and the space is just awesome)))! Essential NYC/Brooklyn loft living that you may not want to leave again))
Rico and his roomies are super chill, open and friendly. We were really busy during our stay, but wish we got to spend more time with them all.
The whole place is a work of art, and you can tell that they puts tonnes of love into it. You could walk around for hours taking it all in and exploring. Even though there is lots of stuff, they manage to keep it really clean and well looked after. I loved the bathroom, great shower.
Our room was huge and well decked out with a bed, sofa, dressers, fridge and desk. And some really great art. He even left some sunscreen out for us which was a sweet touch. It was SO hot during our stay (July) but the big fan in our room meant we had a nice cold escape from the sun, and slept well.
The place is located well, just a few stops away from Bedford station, where we found countless fun bars and restaurants. It was also about 20 minutes into Manhattan.
Rico and the McKibbin St crew are fantastic! Rico is a great host and very welcoming. We barely crossed paths during my stay as I was so busy, but he was always available when needed and happy to help out with anything you might need. The room is very spacious and you feel like you have your own little split level studio, with your own couch and fridge downstairs. Although there's a few people living here, it was always very quiet and clean, and the other housemates are just as friendly as helpful too. There's also 2 very adorable cats that don't make a single noise!
Location wise is great - I caught the subway around a LOT and the L line is literally 2 min away. The neighbourhood is friendly and you're surrounded by other warehouses, great cafés and bars, vintage stores and a 24hr organic store just down the road. The area has escaped much of the gentrification that neighbouring Williamsburg suburbs seen, which is a nice thing to come back to after a long day out in crazy NYC. Would recommend Rico to anyone, especially if you're looking to get a sense of what it's like to really live here.
Rico is very nice and cool man. We had a good stay in his cool furniture & arts place. His cats are very cute. And the place is near the subway, just about five mins walking. Quiet and safe.
Perfect district. Perfect host & perfect weather! Rico's house is the perfect combination for 3days in New York.
We were two persons. So we took the large room. Rico's place is unique and very nice to live in! Thanks again Rico!
Rico was the most lovely Gentleman ever! When we had arrived he ordered a pizza for us with his mobile and on the second day he took us to one of New York's best Clubs ever. The flat is amazing, we had our own spacious and private room and were also allowed to use the kitchen. He shared dinner with us, so we did with him. So glad to have found him and his flat. We had allot of fun with also the other (website hidden) and got to know people from all over the world. It was just perfect!
Thank you so much Rico!!!
