A sharp, modern, spacious 1 BR, located on Elgin St. in the middle of Hong Kong's vibrant SoHo neighborhood. This is truly one of the best neighborhoods in HK. The apartment has a very open feel with the living room and kitchen fully connected (and a small dining table in between) -- and while the bedroom is private (separated by a door/wall from the living area), its windows make the apartment feel spacious and open. The bathroom features a high-pressure shower (which, for me, is crucial).
Large sliding glass doors connect the living room to a humble balcony overlooking the frenetic pace of Elgin St. For a much more luxurious outdoor experience, head upstairs to enjoy my roof access -- not quite harbor views, but the spacious roof (600+ sq ft) offers a unique, in-the-thick-of-it perspective on the towering skyline of Central Hong Kong.
The apartment is located immediately above (4th floor; approximately 77 steps) the famed Hong Kong Escalator, which conveys the work-weary from the Central Business District up to Soho and the Mid-Levels. Soho is the hotspot for Hong Kong's restaurants, art galleries, and bars. Fortunately, unlike the late-night scene in LKF, Elgin St. quiets down around 10pm (regardless, the doors and drapes keep out any street sounds).
Queen size bed (very comfy!)
2 Large couches in living room
Full size air mattress
2 Coffee tables
Television, Apple TV, DVD Player, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 64 (I moved my childhood with me)
2 Air-conditioning units
Refrigerator and freezer
Dehumidifier (sadly, essential at times in Hong Kong)
27-inch iMac (desktop computer)
Adjacent to the escalator, you'll benefit from easy access to everything Hong Kong has to offer. Walking distances to nearby locations:
Escalator (10 seconds)
Airport Express and IFC Mall (7 minutes)
Hong Kong and Central MTR stations (7 minutes)
LKF (Lan Kwai Fong) nightlife district (5 minutes)
Central Pier (ferries to Kowloon and nearby islands) (12 minutes)
My goal is to make your stay in Hong Kong carefree -- I think my apartment should help you achieve that. In case you need any help, my girlfriend and I are always accessible (phone or email) to help out -- problems with the apartment, restaurant/bar recommendations, touristy questions, or anything. And if you require particular assistance, I can arrange to have an amazing domestic helper cook, clean, or run errands.
At my home or someone else's, enjoy your time in Hong Kong!
Nice apartment in a fabulous Soho location very close to all sorts of restaurants and bars. Very easy check-in and everything was as advertised. Would definitely stay there again.
Thank you very much, it was very nice and good experience. But because of christmas big season, we couldn't enjoy the real hong-kong... Anyway thank you!
Place was perfect and very spacious. Location was great if shopping, drinking, and dining in Central are included in your itinerary. It was an 8 to 10 minute walk to MTR, Lan Kwai Fong and main shops in Central. 7/11 was just on the ground floor. Escalator was just beside the building. It was just amazing!
Jeff and Joy were very hospitable in catering to our needs too. Really, it was such a good deal, I won't mind staying there again.
This place is great if you're looking for something close to some restaurants and bars. There's tons of nice places around and Jeff and Joey were helpful pointing out good dinner options. The apartment was as advertised.
The apartment is in a great location, easy to get to everything and some fantastic restaurants along the street. We stayed for 13 days and the apartment had everything that we needed. It is large (for HK) clean, and Jeff was very helpful and quick to respond every time that we had a question. Being so close to the escalator is great when you have heaps of shopping!!
We rented Jeff's place for 2 days as exchange students on a tight budget and wanting a good location. His apartment was located in the middle of soho with great restaurants and bars around. The apartment was surprisingly spacious and the Apple TV was great. Jeff was very accommodating as well. Rent the place!
This is a great place for the price. Highly recommended. My only issue was with the internet connection - quite slow with usage caps. For most tourists this should not be an issue but I was in HK on work.
The reservation was canceled 35 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a fantastic stay in Jeff's place. It is literally in the best location possible, with loads of restaurants and bars downstairs. For such a busy area the flat is actually really quiet - no problems with noise at all. It is spacious and comfortable, and it has an impressive roof terrace. Jeff was brilliant with responding to all of our questions and I would highly recommend staying in his place to anyone heading to Hong Kong. It was our first airbnb experience and we were thrilled, we'll do it again for sure.
This place really is in the ideal location for visiting Hong Kong, everything is so close by. The apartment is spacious (unusual in Central I hear!) and comfortable, with everything you need. There's even a convenience store downstairs. It's also lovely and quiet considering it's right in the thick of things with lots of bars and restaurants on the same street. Being on the fourth floor your biceps do get a workout carrying your suitcase upstairs! Jeff was accommodating and helpful. I would certainly stay here again.
