I have 2 bedrooms with a bathroom on the lower level of my home. Both have doors to the outside. There is wifi, hot water and comfortable beds, a queen sized in one room and a single in the other room. Both rooms have large windows with screens and Boquete breezes flow through. The yard is large, fenced and gated and contains a wonderful variety of flowers and vegetation. It is a 20 minute walk to downtown Boquete and a 5 minute car ride.
The neighborhood is very beautiful with extraordinary views of the mountains; it is not heavily populated. The closest amenity is the Ladera Hotel which is a 5 min walk. Otherwise Boquete is a 20 min walk.Taxis go by often and it is $1 to Boquete.
We stayed with Leslie for 2 weeks which was fantastic. Her home is in a peaceful area outside of town, a 15 min walk or $2 by cab. On arrival there was a vase of flowers & the fridge was stocked with breakfast stuff which was v welcoming. The other room was unoccupied during our stay, so Leslie had turned it into the breakfast room for us.
Leslie is a great host, really friendly & helped us with booking tours & local info. Her two dogs are lovely & it was great to give them a cuddle each morning.
We would recommend staying with Leslie, it has been the highlight of our trip to Panama & a lucky find for us.. such a great place to stay. Thank you.
The house is in a convenient location for walking into town if you're a walker or a quick taxi ride if you're not. There are flowers around it and a small creek, making for a heavenly setting...very peaceful except when some of the neighborhood dogs start barking, but that doesn't last long and does not happen very often. The room was clean and there was a bouquet of flowers (bougainvillea) in a vase when I arrived. I love bougainvillea! I saw a hummingbird from the porch my first day there.
And the hostess, Leslie, was fantastic. She is warm and welcoming. I had wonderful conversations with her over breakfast and a couple glasses of wine. I consider her a friend after spending just 4 days at her house. I highly recommend a stay at Casa de Hermoso in Boquete.
The stay with Leslie was great! The room was thoughtfully equipped with tea/coffee station, decorated nicely, spacious, very clean, wonderful bed. The bath was clean, plenty big, great shower, and counter space. Washing machine was available. Refrigerator space. Breakfast was way above expectation fruit, yogurt, eggs, etc.
Leslie was a treat to meet and talk with. She seemed to have a nice sense of allowing visitors to have their space or be more interactive. If you chose interactive, you are rewarded with the introduction to a warm, giving person with impressive life experiences. Leslie is helpful with navigating a new town, etc.
The home is located with a 20 minute leisurely, beautiful walk to town or $1 taxi ride. The food in town is way above average. This is top tier recommendation.
Any problem you may have seems to be a priority for Leslie. The only negative is at the time of our stay, the two dogs, especially the new young one would bark periodically starting relatively early. She is in the process of training them, a clear priority. She tells each potential visitor about them, so will continue to update visitors on this in an honest way.
I recall reading an entry from a woman on her stay with Leslie. It was quite negative. She said it was dirty which must be totally false. She was warned of the dogs, said she liked dogs, and then was freaked out by them (they are very friendly) and wrote a nearly totally false review. Ignore it.
This stay will be one of the highlights of my 5 weeks in Panama.
If you like barking & baying dogs all day & night, not only here, but all the surrounding neighbours, then this is the place for you. It is definitely not very clean and very little attempt to clean it in the 17 days we were there. Walking distance to town - 1 km. Leslie makes good breakfasts.
We had a ton of fun staying in Boquete! Leslie was a great host and we enjoyed her breakfast and talking with her in the morning. We were only there one night but wish we could have stayed more. Boquete is a fun little town and there's lots to explore there. Thanks Leslie!
I just returned from Boquete, Panama, where I was so fortunate to have the chance to spend several days at Case De Hermosa.
Our stay could not have better. I have been coming to Boquete for about 12 years. The prices for logging has tripled during this time, and of course Boquete has grown. The accommodations were excellent. There was 2 bedrooms and a bath. In Boquete, one would be lucky to get one bedroom for twice the price that is charged by the hostess, Leslie. The rooms were extremely clean and very nicely furnished.
The location is idea. It is about 5 mins. by car and 20 mins. walking from downtown Boquete. It close to everything but far enough away from the noise of the frequent festivals that take place. The neighborhood is extremely tranquil and safe.
Leslie is an outstanding host, and is very knowledgeable about
all of the local activities that take place, weather you are on vacation or considering a move to Boquete. If one also needs breakfast, she can also accommodate this wish in an outsanding fashion, with prior arrangements.
I can not say enough how well our trip to Boquete went and I attribute most of that related to our stay at Casa De Hermosa
We will only be staying there during our future frequent trips to Boquete. If you are smart, you will follow my lead and do the same.
Leslie could not have been a more hospitable and gracious host. From the moment I arrived I felt at home and welcome. The accommodations were clean, private, and very comfortable. Leslie made me a delicious breakfast both mornings. She is a good resource for area attractions and interests. The house is situated in a tranquil and beautiful setting with easy access to the center of town. I recommend Leslie wholeheartedly and without reservation!
