Hi ,great studio on pretty street in Harlem Very comfortable w a very charming and pleasant host there to greet me right on time. Everything was as pictured. A great place to explore Harlem and the city
Me and my Parents spend really great time in your apartment! Fir their first time in NYC all was perfect !
Charlie and Edwin were very helpful and allow us to leave our luggage in a small room with a lock after hour departure :) thanks again ! I highly recommande this place !
Merci encore Charlie !
My wife and I stayed in this rental for the whole month of May, and it was wonderful!! Please read Bryan's review posted May 2014--I agree with everything that he said.
The day that we arrived turned quite warm and the apt was quite warm and sticky. We went out for dinner and by the time we returned, Edwin had an A/C unit installed and running. We were very comfortable from then on. Edwin was a real joy to deal with. Any problem (and there were very few), Edwin would take care of right away. You could not be taken care of any better than Edwin took care of us!!
We also met Charlie a couple of times and he also was very nice and friendly. While we were there, Charlie had a new sofa bed delivered and we were given plenty of notice, thus not inconvenienced in any way. The location is great and would rent from Charlie again when we return for a NY visit!
A couple of things not mentioned on other reviews are:
Walking to the B/C train you pass a US Post Office
There is a Super Target Store within walking distance (or short bus ride) away
There is a bus (M60) a few blocks away that goes to Laguardia Airport
Great restaurants close (ie. Sylvia's, Red Rooster, Amy Ruth's, etc)
Short walk to Central Park
Book it--you wont go wrong!
Thanks so much for a wonderful trip Charlie and Edwin.

This is, quite simply, a splendid alternative to a hotel rental in New York.
The studio is located in an extremely convenient area of Harlem and feels completely safe at all times of the day and night. Being on a cross street, traffic noise is minimal and an added bonus is that street parking is available just outside the building.
The street consists of old, but very attractive, In my opinion), brownstone buildings which, once the area has been completely gentrified, will look even more amazing. I found them to be delightful so, if you like old buildings, remember to look up. There are plenty of convenience stores nearby and the much larger 125th Street is only a 10 minute walk away, where you'll find every kind of store you're likely to need. including a great variety of restaurants and fast food places.
The Studio itself was exactly as you see it in the pictures. It's large and would ideally suit 2 people, although you could accommodate more if required. Stylistically, it is very pleasant and has been furnished well, with good photographs on the walls. It has a massive TV set with a few cable stations. There's a multi-region DVD player and an iPhone docking station, (iPhone 5 onwards). The kitchen is quite basic, but has all you'd need for the small amount of cooking or heating up that you'll probably be doing. The fridge is large and the microwave is powerful. There's a bath and shower and lashings of (very) hot water. It was quite chilly and wet when I visited, but the heating kept the building at a really nice temperature and I never woke up cold in the middle of the night.
Now, on to the bed! It was simply the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in - and I include the beds at Wynn/Encore and Bellagio in Las Vegas as well as the one I (currently) have in my home. It has a built-in pillow top, which is like lying on a cloud - I would imagine. I completed the perfect sleep experience with a pair of ear-plugs - some had, thoughtfully, been left in a drawer - thanks for that, I found them most useful.
The noise from other guests was no more or less than you'd expect from a building of 5 apartments and it never bothered me, (and I have quite a low tolerance level of others' noise).
Overall, I would hugely recommend staying in Charlie's house. I enjoyed it immensely and saved a lot of money, and had a great deal more independence, by not staying in a hotel. Thanks, Charlie, (and Edwin), and I wish you all possible success in whatever you do with this terrific house in Harlem.
Notre séjour à New York s'est trés passé.
The studio is just as shown in the pìcture. Very clean and cozy.
We had everything we needed in the bathroom and kitchen. It is very well equipped.
The bed is very confortable.
The neighbourhood is very nice and quite. It is near several subway lines and we loved that it is a few blocks away from Central Park! There are also all sort of shops and groceries around.
Charlie and Edwin were extremely kind and friendly.
We had a great time!
Thanks a lot!
The apartment was beautiful, the bathroom was really clean! Everything including umbrellas and hairdryer was available, great!!
Just 5-7 minutes walk away from the subway, even if it was downstairs and on the street not loud at all!
Edwin was a really good help, thank you guys for a great vacation!
Fresh apartment in an old building with all that comes along. We spent 8 nights with two small children. We slept good in an comfortable bed. We were told in advance that cable TV wasn't working but we didn't come to watch TV anyway.
Laundry was a pleasure with new machines.
Would consider coming back!
