Beautifully restored light and spacious apartment in front of La Caleta beach. Highest quality furniture and amenities. Watch the sunset every night from this fantastic position before choosing between a wide variety of restaurants right on your doorstep. Very comfortably sleeps five.

The space
I loved every minute of designing and sourcing the material for every aspect of this renovation. From reclaimed tiles and floorboards to the antique furniture sourced from all over Europe, it's a very special place. The presence of the sea as seen from most of the rooms gives a wonderful peace to the place, but the highest quality modern appliances and sound system allows to pamper yourself at the same time. Centrally heated by beautiful reclaimed radiators for those chilly nights when El Poniente blows hard!

Apart from the main high point of the beach of La Caleta, Barrio de la Viña is home to many great little bars and restaurants all within just a couple of minutes walk from the apartment. Calle Virgen de la Palma is home to a large number of al fresco restaurants of varying quality but there are quite a few more nearby well worth a visit. I'll happily send you some of my recommendations if you like.

The central market de abastos is about a ten minute walk where some of the freshest seafood you'll ever see can be found at an excellent price. It also has a few newly added bars within it too now that serve sushi, local craft ales and beers, wine, as well as some more interesting tapas that you can nibble on your way around.

There's also a few mini supermarkets very close by that provide the basics.

Parking is a nightmare in Cádiz, but patience and a bit of local knowledge go a long way to conquering this problem.

Hi, my name is Martin and I'm a Englishman who loves Spain. I work as a geologist all over the world and call Granada home when I'm not at work. Cádiz has always had an incredible pull on me ever since my first trip there in 2000 and a few years ago I bought the apartment there that we are now letting through Airbnb. I love travel and avoid tourist traps. I love to to test my comfort levels in weird an unfamiliar places as much as I love to indulge in a bit of luxury after a stressful job. One thing that is very important to me is eating well. When I'm on holiday I try hard to not eat a bad meal as the food for me is just as memorable as any view or spectacle. Slurping down an endless stream of oysters and lobster at Marius Seafood Restaurant in Copacabana was infinitely more enjoyable for me than standing under Christ the Redeemer with a bunch of tourists. I also must shamefully admit to actually gaining weight whilst walking El Camino de Santiago. Apparently walking and average of 20 km a day wasn't sufficient to burn off what I was packing away in the evenings. I love to spend time thoroughly researching the bars and restaurants of every new place I go to. And if you stay at our home in Cádiz you can benefit from the extensive list of the very best places to eat in Cádiz and some nearby towns that I have complied in the House Manual. Take it easy, Martin.
