  • It was great staying at Vic's Hacker Home. Quite place. I had a private room. Kitchen was always stocked with fruits and other stuff. Vic is very responsive and answered every phone call I made to him during the stay. I made one month booking because I moved to SF and was looking for places, was not sure how long it will take, turned out I (email hidden) in 15 days and Vic was soo corporative in this situation when I had to cut my stay short. (email hidden) to crash (email hidden).

  • So... this was my first airbnb experience and I have to say. I was quite impressed. A quick search on Expedia tells me that the cheapest hotel runs at a minimum of around $150 per night so for $96 per night (after the airbnb fees), I saved at least 33% on my lodging costs for my trip.
There are, of course, some negatives, like privacy. I rented the private room in this hacker house so, I did have some privacy. but for sure, the snoring from the next room and... the tiptoeing I did late at night was an effort. but on the plus side, my house-mates were friendly, respectful, and I had some interesting conversations, shared coffee and tips about exploring the city.
The location, is quite ideal. It is 4 blocks away from the Colma BART station. which is a $3.30 fare to any of the 4 stops in Downtown SF.
Vic just had new carpets installed and the place is very clean. Although, the downstairs neighbours did hang their laundry on the bannister to the front door for the first few days.
Vic, the host, was extremely accomodating. I saw him a couple times during my stay and each time, he'd ask me if he could make my stay more comfortable. He was flexible and even gave me a ride to the BART station on my first time there.
The internet connection is solid. when it wasn't, Vic checked into it right away. the kitchen is well stocked with utensils and pots for cooking etc. laundry machines are available and detergent provided.
The neighbourhood is decent. there's a Walmart and 7-11 within 4 blocks. Do some research and you'll find an In & Out Burger and Krispy Kreme store nearby. There's a couple full-on grocery stores on Mission ave if you don't mind a hike.
All in all a very pleasant experience. Would not hesitate to recommend.
    Thanks Vic!
    Happy trails!
