A traditional fisherman's cottage within the walls of this World Heritage Site town of Conwy. That means we're a few minutes walk to a medieval castle, excellent independent restaurants, real ale pubs and cafes, and a harbour where you can find Italian/Welsh artisan ice-cream, buy fresh lobster and crab, or just sit and watch the world go by. I'm always easily contactable if you need a helping hand.

The space

Bwthyn Haf is a Grade 2 listed, traditional terraced cottage, in a cul-de-sac which leads up to the medieval town wall. There is a living/dining room with comfy chairs, tv and everything you need for lazing around. The kitchen is small but well-equipped – I regularly cook Christmas dinner for 6 people in it, so anything’s possible. I insist that guests learn some Welsh during their stay, so you’ll have to work out what the words ‘te’, ‘coffi’ and ‘sigwr’ mean if you’re going to make yourself a warm drink. Outside is a courtyard garden, ideal for relaxing with a morning coffee or evening glass of wine.
Upstairs there is a bathroom with shower, and two bedrooms. Your room has a double bed and fitted wardrobes. The bed has a traditional Welsh tapestry cover, so you’ll never be cold … although you may want to remove it when the weather is warm. I use the second room as my bedroom/office when I am in Conwy, and ask guests to respect this.

Until recently we operated as a self-catering unit, and have 4 star Visit Wales (Government) grading which covers all aspects of the accommodation, including quality, safety and cleanliness.

Other things to note

Conwy is a medieval walled town in Wales. Consequently it is not the best place to come for a suntan and it's best to prepare for all weathers, regardless of the time of year. As it was built before cars were invented, driving around its narrow streets can be an adventure, so please be patient with other drivers and accept that sometimes you might have to walk to your final destination. However, all these things make it a fantastic place if you're interested in staying in the centre of a one of the greatest historical sites in Europe and being able to stroll to shops, restaurants, galleries - or onto wild mountains and beautiful beaches.

This cottage is everything and more. Comfortable, clean and cozy. A terrific base for our adventures in North Wales. The hosts were very helpful and their suggestions of things to do were spot on. We'll be back.

Llinos's place is a beautiful and surprisingly spacious cottage in a little row which closes off with the castle walls. It's right at the heart of Conwy's action- stumbling distance from brilliant pubs (The Albion), even better cosy and classy hotel bars/pubs (The Erskine, The Castle) and a chippy. Llinos is a warm and wonderful host who's gone to the trouble of creating the most comprehensive welcome and info pack we've ever seen. If you're staying in north Wales, stay here. It's close to Conwy, Caernarfon, Anglesey, Zipworld, Bettws y Coed and Portmeirion- all places we managed to visit in just two nights, three days.

This cottage is a real gem. Great location - very quiet but just a minute walk to the high street in Conwy. The cottage was very cosy, really clean and well equipped. Communication with Llinos was excellent and she really made sure our break exceeded expectations with lots of help and advice. We loved staying in this great little cottage and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Conwy. Many thanks Llinos

Location is great, a few minutes walk to anywhere in Conwy which is a lovely place to explore, especially walking the town walll. The cottage is clean and welcoming. Communication was spot on! If you like real ale, visit The Albion. Finally a word of warning, if wanting to eat out on a Saturday night in Conwy, book!

Llinos place was so lovely. In the very centre of Conwy, around the corner from the train station. The cottage had so much character and our room was very comfortable. She provided everything we needed. Llinos also gave awesome suggestions for eating and drinking. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Conwy, it is such a beautiful town and Llinos place is the perfect home base. Thanks for a great stay!!
