The Space

Cozy private garden level studio with an incredibly comfortable king-size memory foam bed for two. Separate area to relax and dine. Completely separate kitchen and bathroom. Nice sized bathroom with claw-foot tub (lavender bath salts included). Kitchen is simple and perfectly equipped (no microwave) overlooking the backyard.*

Reliable and fast wireless internet for movie streaming, etc.** TV-less intentionally. Speakers that easily connect to computer, iPhones, etc and record player for extra fun. Place stays cool - there's an AC unit for especially hot days and space heater for chilly ones.

Backyard is rustically serene with shading trees and a plethora of eclectic hanging plants. Definitely in progress - my neighbors and I have some work to so there's not as much outdoor space as there will be.

* Studio is always tidy and properly cleaned for guests with fresh sheets and towels. That said, house is older, it could use some paint love (on the list!) and is impossible to make immaculate. Definitely a home not a hotel :)

** Cell reception can be challenging bc my place is on a small mountain. Reception can also be iffy on the street - I'll tell you the best spots. Texting and VoIP totally work! If you have AT&T I can add your # to my micro cell.

Guest Access

Guests are welcome to use kitchen spices, condiments, coffee, etc.

Interaction with Guests

I'll be in touch with details after you book and would love to meet you if I'm around. My pup and I will either be out of town or at a friend's during your stay. Three respectful and kind neighbors share the main house above. I always give them a heads up about guests and have never had an issue.

The Neighborhood

Mount Washington is a historic and very interesting solely residential neighborhood - reminds me of France with its twisty and narrow roads up into the hills (you'll definitely need to use your parking brake and turn in your wheels).

Location is ideal - close to everything LA yet absolutely peaceful (feels like you're far away from city). A perfect balance. Ideal for walks and city views from the top. Check out the Self Realization Retreat Center and venture just up the way to a hike.

Getting Around

Super easy and safe street parking. Skipping distance to public transportation (Gold Line train or bus). Minutes to Downtown. Right off of the I-110 and close to the I-5 and I-10. 10-15 minutes to Highland Park, Echo Park, Silver Lake and Pasadena.

Other Things to Note

Upstairs neighbors are musicians. Sounds worse than it is! They are respectful and never play early or late. They mainly practice elsewhere although you may hear singing or a guitar once in a while. Guests haven't had an issue in the past.
