The space

This studio is situated on a property attached but separate from a main house in a beach community near a nature preserve called More Mesa. The studio has its own private entrance on the side of the property. It has a kitchenette with sink, fridge, stove, water pot, coffee maker, microwave, coffee, tea, granola, and cooking and eating utensils. The queen bed is very comfortable and faces the french doors opening out into the garden and sitting area. It's a lovely, sunny morning spot and in the evening you can see the sun set over the mountains.

Guest access

We are 8 min. walking distance to the beach. There are old beater bikes to ride on the bike path North to UCSB and Isla Vista or South to Hope Ranch or on the endless trails of More Mesa. We also have a few foam surf boards to try out the waves at the nearby beaches of Campus Point, Deverough, or Sands.
Downtown Santa Barbara is only an 8 min. drive.

Interaction with guests

We give a 1 and 1/2 hr. SURF LESSONS for 90$. 160$ for 2 people. The beach called Campus Point near our house is great for learning.
We would interact as much or as little as the guests would like. We will be in the main house or out and about for the most part doing the usual things like working, or gardening or running down for a jump in the water. We like to give our guests their space and privacy but we are available if there are questions or needs. Before your arrival we leave detailed instructions on how to enter the studio. We enjoy hosting and providing a refreshing and beautiful experience for our guests.

The neighborhood

We love that our neighborhood is quiet and so close to the beach and nature.
You can walk to the beach from our house in 8 minutes. Or you can enter the beautiful More Mesa preserve and walk the circumference along the trails to the cliffs above the ocean and then away from the beach on hilly forested areas, and back. We like to run the cliff path to the end where the Eucalyptus grove is, go down the stairs to the beach, jump in the water, and run back. It takes about an hour.
We are also walking distance to the Beachside Bar Cafe which is a fun place for Happy Hour or morning brunch at 11:00. Enter the beach at the beach gate, walk on the beach, West, for about 25 minutes at mid to low tide, you'll reach the pier and the cafe. If it's high tide or if the storms have taken all the sand, the bike path also gets there.
Santa Barbara is a short drive away. We have a lot of brochures and ideas for activities in a basket in the cottage for you to research. Island kayaking, wine tasting, hiking, surfing, beach walking, shopping, there is seriously alot to do around here.

Other things to note

The price of the cottage includes TOT taxes.
