Casa Miramar is a very private and spacious home with a unique vantage point overlooking the ocean, islands, mountains and sky but minutes away from all the activities and enjoyment that the Cowichan Valley has to offer.
This listing at Casa Miramar is for a couple in the queen room. There is one full bathroom adjacent to the bedroom.
The open 'great room' space off the kitchen is a shared space and yours to enjoy along with the hot tub and decks, all overlooking the ocean view.
Coffee and tea will be available in the mornings along with a simple offering of juice, fruit, granola, bagels/toast for you to prepare at your leisure. Or you can bring along your own snacks for minimal use of the kitchen. I prefer informality so whatever works best for you is fine with me.
You are also free to use the dance studio for a morning stretch or, if desired, book your own private tango lesson!
Interaction with Guests
As your host I will be home to greet you and show you around upon your arrival. I have my own private space where I can retreat but I am available anytime to answer questions you have about exploring the area, hikes, restaurants etc
The Valley has become a destination! Vineyards, farm to table restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, antique shops, marinas, hiking trails, golf and tennis are all within a very short drive. Parks and beach access are within walking distance.
If you arrive in the late afternoon and would like to go out for dinner I have found that the guests enjoy to go to Cowichan Bay ... a unique fishing village on the water, less than 10 minutes away, with several restaurant options and a pub, all overlooking the marina. But meandering through the village is a treat anytime of day!
You do need a car since the public transportation is quite far.
We are a 45 minute drive north of downtown Victoria between Mill Bay and Cowichan Bay.
Other Things to Note
If you are wanting a beautiful retreat setting, surrounded by nature and the sounds of birds and crickets, yet close to all the Valley has to offer, I would be happy to have you as a guest at Casamiramar.
This is a non smoking home.
We are on a well so consideration for water usage is appreciated.
Quiet time after 11 PM.
Thank you ... :)
Staying with Lyn was an absolute dream! Lyn was always ready with detailed, incredibly helpful area recommendations - where to go hiking, what local interests I might like, restaurants nearby and very helpful directions on the map. Lyn is so knowledgeable about the area, always able to answer any question I might have. The view is as spectacular as advertised and just sitting on her deck and enjoying the view was wonderful. Looking at the stars while enjoying the hot tub at night was also great. The house is in a very safe, quiet, serene area but still close to everything. I stayed in the single bedroom and had the bathroom to myself and it was all very nice and roomy. Lyn is a wonderful hostess and I highly recommend making the trip to Vancouver Island and staying at Lyn's beautiful house.
We loved our stay at Lyn's AirBnB!! Lyn was a fantastic host, very kind and welcoming. She made us feel right at home and helped us with sight seeing ideas.
Breakfast was great and the view was fantastic. The hot tub at night was very relaxing in the evening. We definitely recommend her place for a peaceful relaxing getaway from the city.
Lyn was a super hostess and treated us like we were old friends. The listing was accurate, She paid attention to every detail to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Thank you Lyn for a lovely lovely stay in your special place. Basking in your hot tub with a view of the ocean and sunset was just what our spirit needed. Our only regret is that we were there for only one night. All the best to you.
A great place and a great host! Lyn is providing a lovely, quit, close to nature and spacious place with the best ocean-view in this area! Thank you so much Lyn, I had a great time and I would definitely come back again! All the best!
We needed a place to stay with our high-school-age son during the weekend of the Brentwood Regatta. Lyn's Cobble Hill home turned out to be the perfect choice. Though set in a gorgeous retreat setting with a million dollar view, this "bnb" was close to Brentwood AND a host of wonderful restaurants and shopping centers. Lyn helpfully directed us to some excellent eateries and scenic beaches. Plus - after a day of watching races at the regatta in the wind and rain, we were able to return to our home base, warm up in the hot tub, and enjoy a quiet evening. Lyn is a warm and welcoming host. We'd recommend Cobble Hill to everyone visiting this area.

In my 20's and early 30's I traveled a lot! As much as I enjoyed the adventuring lifestyle I was always in awe to return to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and eventually settled back here to raise my two (now adult) sons in a home with a view that constantly has felt like being on a permanent vacation.
We have enjoyed this space for almost 25 years ... first as a family home and then as a social environment, music studio, and vacation spot for my boys and their friends.
Along the way I created a home dance studio where for many years I provided classes in Argentine Tango to all age groups, teens through seniors, as well as hosting many social dance events.
Gardening ... both flower and veggie is also a passion along with preparing meals for my local friends who enjoy to stop by at the cocktail hour, or for a hot tub before dinner followed by a movie in the media room.
I now have opened up this lovely home for people around the world who would like to visit the Cowichan Valley and also enjoy a private retreat setting within a short drive to all the various amenities the area has to offer.
