About this listing
Casa Miramar is a very private and spacious home with a unique vantage point overlooking the ocean, islands, mountains and sky but minutes away from all the activities and enjoyment that the Cowichan Valley has to offer.
This listing at Casa Miramar is for a single or a couple in the queen room. There is one full bathroom adjacent to the bedroom.
The open 'great room' space off the kitchen is a shared space and yours to enjoy along with the hot tub and decks, all overlooking the ocean view.
Coffee and tea will be available in the mornings along with a simple offering of juice, fruit, granola, bagels/toast etc for you to prepare at your leisure. Or you can bring along your own snacks for minimal use of the kitchen.
You are also free to use the dance studio for a morning stretch or, if desired, book your own private tango lesson!
Interaction with Guests
As your host I will be home to greet you and show you around upon your arrival. I have my own private space where I can retreat but I am available anytime to answer questions you have about exploring the area, hikes, restaurants etc
The Valley has become a destination! Farm to table restaurants, marinas, vineyards, whale watching tours, hiking trails, golf and tennis are all within a very short drive. Parks and beach access are within walking distance.
If you arrive in the late afternoon and would like to go out for dinner I have found that the guests enjoy to go to Cowichan Bay ... a unique fishing village on the water, less than 10 minutes away, with several restaurant options and a pub, all overlooking the marina. But meandering through the village is a treat anytime of day! Guests particularly love the local bakery.
You do need a car since the public transportation is quite far.
We are a 45 minute drive north of downtown Victoria between Mill Bay and Cowichan Bay.
Other Things to Note
Casa Miramar is a spacious guest house ... there are several rooms available for booking. On occasion, depending on the individual guests, more than one reservation is accepted at a time. The bathroom near 'the single room' and 'the queen room' has the only shower so will be used by all guests. There is another 2 piece bathroom near the kitchen which is mostly used by the guests in 'the loft room' but can also be used by all guests. It is rare to have more than one booking at a time but it does happen so I like for guests to know the situation before they book.
If you are wanting a beautiful retreat setting, surrounded by nature and the sounds of birds and crickets, yet close to all the Valley has to offer, I would be happy to have you as a guest at Casamiramar.
This is a non smoking home.
We are on a well so consideration for water usage is appreciated.
Quiet time after 11 PM.
Thank you ... :)
Staying with Lyn was absolutely fabulous. Not only is her place beautiful, clean, unique and relaxing, Lyn is also a wonderful person to spend time with and is an exceptional host. She shared many great recommendations with us about where to eat and where to visit in Cobble Hill, Cowichan Bay and surrounding area and made us feel at home instantly. Breakfast every morning was wonderful and consisted of locally made granola, yogourt, various fresh fruits, bagels, coffee and juice. We loved the granola so much we went and bought some to take on the rest of our trip with us! Casa Miramar is the perfect place to unwind for a few days. The beach is a short walk from the house and the view from the back porch is incredible. Lyn even has yoga mats for guests to use during their stay. Highly recommend a stay here!
We have stayed at Lyn's place for 2 nights at the beginning of our tour through Vancouver Island and it was a perfect start of our holiday. Lyn's house is nicely located with marvelous view of the sea - we really enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace. Lyn is a great and welcoming host. She really cared about our wellbeing and also gave us many useful information about possible activities in the surrounding as well as for our further trip.
Staying with Lyn was an absolute dream! Lyn was always ready with detailed, incredibly helpful area recommendations - where to go hiking, what local interests I might like, restaurants nearby and very helpful directions on the map. Lyn is so knowledgeable about the area, always able to answer any question I might have. The view is as spectacular as advertised and just sitting on her deck and enjoying the view was wonderful. Looking at the stars while enjoying the hot tub at night was also great. The house is in a very safe, quiet, serene area but still close to everything. I stayed in the single bedroom and had the bathroom to myself and it was all very nice and roomy. Lyn is a wonderful hostess and I highly recommend making the trip to Vancouver Island and staying at Lyn's beautiful house.
We loved our stay at Lyn's AirBnB!! Lyn was a fantastic host, very kind and welcoming. She made us feel right at home and helped us with sight seeing ideas.
Breakfast was great and the view was fantastic. The hot tub at night was very relaxing in the evening. We definitely recommend her place for a peaceful relaxing getaway from the city.
Lyn was a super hostess and treated us like we were old friends. The listing was accurate, She paid attention to every detail to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Thank you Lyn for a lovely lovely stay in your special place. Basking in your hot tub with a view of the ocean and sunset was just what our spirit needed. Our only regret is that we were there for only one night. All the best to you.

About the Host, Lyn
In my 20's and early 30's I traveled a lot! As much as I enjoyed the adventuring lifestyle I was always in awe to return to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and eventually settled back here to raise my two (now adult) sons in a home with a view that constantly has felt like being on a permanent vacation.
We have enjoyed this space for almost 25 years ... first as a family home and then as a social environment, music studio, and vacation spot for my boys and their friends.
Along the way I created a home dance studio where for many years I provided classes in Argentine Tango to all age groups, teens through seniors, as well as hosting many social dance events.
Gardening ... both flower and veggie is also a passion along with preparing meals for my local friends who enjoy to stop by at the cocktail hour, or for a hot tub before or after dinner.
I now have opened up this lovely home for people around the world who would like to visit the Cowichan Valley and also enjoy a private retreat setting within a short drive to all the various amenities the area has to offer.
