  • Great, huge apartment! Jan's husband Mel took very good care of us. The location was great -- only a few blocks from the water, shopping and restaurants. And, Ephesus was just a short drive as well. Highly recommend!

  • Lovely spacious apartment in Kusadasi. Very large living area, 3 spacious bedrooms and well equipped kitchen. We were warmly received by Jan's husband Mel who showed us around the apartment, gave an explanation of all the local facilities and provided us with some drinks and provisions. Bottled water is also provided. Great location less than 5 mins walk from the beach and 2 supermarkets in the same block. This was great value for money and would highly recommend. It suited our family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 children aged 11 & 8) perfectly.

  • Plenty of room for 5 of us staying a week. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking and I was glad to see a full sized fridge. There was open street parking for our rental car right in front of the apt. which was on 2nd floor. Really felt at home there and appreciated the clothes washer and balcony dryer .
Only other thing we could have needed was a GPS for getting around with the car.
I recommend a car here if you want to see more than beach. Pamukkale is well worth the drive and you can spend more time there than tour busses.
Only complaint was from my daughter who needs a shallow end of the swimming pool.
Apt manager was nearby and helpful with minor issues like shower head replacement and doorknob repair.
Residents seemed friendly and nice neighborhood. You will be impressed with this place as we were. THANKS

    Response from Jan:

Thanks Todd, it was great hosting you and your family and are happy you enjoyed your stay with us. Yes I agree that if you are hiring a car while here, not only in Kusadasi, but in Turkey, then arranging a GPS with the car hire company is well worth it as it makes driving around alot simplier and Pamukkale as you say is well worth the drive and the visit.

  • We stayed in Jan's apartment for 5 days and it was one of the best apartments we have used on Airbnb. Extremely clean, spacious and perfectly located. A fully stocked kitchen and working appliances and great air conditioning.

Jan is a great communicator and helped us find a transfer company when we were having problems with our one.

Definitely recommend Jan's apartment for stays in Kusadasi.

  • I loved the fact that this place is so close to everything and extremely roomy. Everyone was able to feel comfortable with all of the amenities that a hotel would offer. Jan and others were extremely hospitable and quick thinkers on their feet for any wild problem that would arise.

Thanks Trace...it was lovely hosting you and your family....and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday in Turkey. Having worked in the travel business I am used to thinking on my feet and the 'wild' problem wasn't so wild and as I said at the time driving in a foreign country can sometimes be difficult.

  • We stayed at Mel and Jan's Kusadasi apartment for two nights end of May. They have to be my favorite people in Turkey. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and Mel and Jan were very supportive and helpful with everything, even long after we left the apartment. They were excellent with communication before landing in Kusadasi, and answered all our questions promptly.

Apartment: The 3 bedroom apartment was roomy and great. The living room was big, there was a cute balcony where we sat on outside and talked for a few hours. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, plates, etc. Jan had left some juices and food in the fridge, just in case we got hungry right when we arrived, which was really nice and useful. Mel speaks turkish, and was very helpful in giving the driver directions on the phone. He called several times to make sure we were okay. The apartment is well secured, there is security door downstairs, and the door has a double lock.

The wifi works well. We didnt use the TV but there is one. We used the washing machine and that worked well too. The bathroom, part of hte master bathroom shower head fell off when we tried to use it. We called Mel, who got it fixed immediately. The shower pressure is great too. I would HIGHLY recommend this apartment to anyone, and would definitely come back there and stay! Its spacious, comfortable and very close to the town. You can walk to the waterfront (10-12 minute walk), or you can take a small bus which is super easy to do. The waterfront has a ton of restaurants and little shops.

Mel and Jan: They're really great! From before we embarked on our trip, the communication was really great. The four of us arrived at different times, and one girl arrived while the three of us were on a tour. Mel was able to let her in on last minute notice which was super helpful. He even went out and got her a sim card. We hadn't booked bus tickets from Denizli to Konya and were quite worried about that. Mel volunteered to go out and buy the tickets for us, and called me several times to confirm those are the ones we want. He was very very helpful. Checking out of the apartment was easy too.

Even after we left their apartment, Mel told us we could call him at anytime if we needed help or with translation. Given our bus was from 9pm to 3am, I told him I wouldn't want to disturb him too late, to which he responded with my phone is on 24/7 no problem, call me at anytime. He texted us a couple of times later to make sure we were okay. I think that already speaks volumes, and nothing else needs to be said about the amazing hospitality we received from Mel and Jan. They definitely exceeded our expectations on all fronts.

  • Jan's apartment is quite new and very attractive. The rooms are generously sized and are furnished with good quality pieces. The apartment is above ground level with a balcony as well. Upon entering I was amazed at what we got for the money we paid. It's also within an easy walk of the water front and shopping. Jan was a good host. She gave us the information we needed and left us to enjoy but was available by phone should we need help.

About
I have lived in Turkey since 1992 when I came to Kusadasi to work & decided to stay! I had been working in the travel business & worked in several different countries, including Greece, India & Lapland. I love trying new foods & discovering new places......the feeling you have when arriving in a new place, the anticipation of what may be around the next corner.....this to me is all part of the experience of a holiday! As a host I like to provide whatever type of holiday you need.....if you simply need me to be there to hand over keys at the beginning & end of your stay or call to see you on a daily basis ( and anything in-between ) then I will......my husband & I are more than happy to share our vast knowledge of this lovely country/region with you.
