Interaction with Guests
Depends on my schedule and availability on particular day, but I only accept bookings when actually home.
Peaceful and beautiful setting. Pretty, large timber frame house built by my deceased husband. Neighborhood isolated from noise, traffic. Only nature's sounds .
Only in town - does not reach my house.
Quiet, no extra friends or pets. No smoking. Main house might have fireplace going, also propane stove and TV. But, generally, I like my space back after 9PM :)) Of course kitchen available for tea, beverages, etc.
Sophie is a very welcoming hostess. She gave me a wonderful intro to her home. The neighborhood is beautiful and reminded me of my own home in Wisconsin. I appreciated the comfortable bed and pillows. It was fun to meet and chat with other guests. What a lovely way to experience the beauty of humanity!
Sophia was a wonderful hostess, and the house was beautiful and unique-like an idiosyncratic ski chalet in a gorgeous setting. She had a warm fore going and made me feel very much at home.
Sophie is an excellent host. My mother and I stayed at her place in the upstairs bedroom during Friends and Family weekend at Hampshire College and had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The house is warm, welcoming and very uniquely and beautifully constructed. The high ceilings, wooden beams, and large stone central fireplace offer a rustic charm and Sophie's kitchen is open, bright and well-stocked with great coffee and bread. The woods around her place are serene and well-pathed - I took a couple of hikes and the trails are extensive. I didn't see any wildlife, but my mom saw several wild turkeys from Sophie's deck! I would definitely recommend this listing to anyone who needs to stay in the area.
Sophia's place is wonderful! My boyfriend and I were in town for the weekend for a Sunday wedding. We got to the house a little late and Sophia was out, but made sure we could get in and left the lights on for us. The home itself is a beautiful wood frame cottage of sorts. Our room was comfortable and Sophia made it clear that we could make ourselves at home. Sophia herself is very sweet and chatted with us as we got ready to go. It's not super close to town, so a car is needed, but both of us went to school in the valley so the drive gave us no problems. Plus, we appreciated getting away from the city bustle. I would definitely stay here again!
Sophia made me feel comfortable before even arriving. She gave my husband and I a warm welcome. Her home is charming, I love the location just 10 minutes from the Mullins.
Thanks dear Omayra. I need to ask for some quick assistance to set up my photos, of which I have many but in folders I can't get to or transfer from! From some friends or my children, who are less technically challenged, on their next visit! Meanwhile, at least most guests are pleasantly surprised at the beauty of my timber frame house...
Sophie's cozy cabin, seated in the woods of Western Massachusetts, is an idyllic break from urban life. The only thing that was less than ideal was our busy schedule and quick one night stay--if only we'd had more time to enjoy the beautiful landscape she shared with us!
Sophie is a fantastic hostess, with a warm, welcoming and accepting personality. Her sweet kitty, Matsa (spelling?), is a very talented tree climber, which makes up for Sophie's lack of technical knowledge (i.e. no photos of the house! haha). We had a wonderful time chatting with her by the toasty fireplace and sincerely look forward to visiting again. Also, the sound of the morning rain on the rooftop of our guest room was a heavenly surprise.
Sidenote: Sophie recognized mine and Laurie's relationship right away and, while that might seem like something to be expected these days, it truly made us feel comfortable and welcome in her home.
Love is love no matter what color and shade,so long as it is true:))
I loved your comment about Mitza's tree climbing giftedness contrasting to my computer-challenged one!! But very astutely observed. I'd rather be outside in my woods than inside figuring out computers...
Hope to see you (website hidden), it's snowing outside tonight...
We stayed with Sophie (and Mitsa, sweet little cat) for just a weekend, but those two days were really delightful. She made us feel right at home in her beautiful cozy house, where everything we needed (and didn't) was provided. She is a genuinely nice and easy-going person. If we were to go back in the area, we would definitely stay with her again.
