George's house is quite unique in many ways. It's location is fantastic, in the mid-high levels of Delphoi, opposite to the church square and commanding a breathtaking view of the mountain slopes all the way down to the sea. The house is furnished and decorated with antique furniture, kilims and ornaments dating back to Ottoman times. It was a delight to stay in such a historical setting.
Joana, a neighbour, welcomed us warmly with delicate attentions, which was very nice of her. She showed us around and gave us some recommendations on stores and restaurants.
Delphoi is a small town, so it was easy to find our way around to the archeological sites and we even had the luxury of returning midday to rest before going back for more.
We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return on our next visit !
One of the best houses we ever had (and we had quite a lot). It has everything you need, from linen to condiments, even some beer (FIX is highly recommended) in the fridge. Reception was very cheerful. Joanna, the caretaker, was in the house within 5 minutes when we had a little trouble with the Wi-Fi. George was very nice on the telephone and solved the problem. Our party consisted of 3 generations and each enjoyed the house in its own way. Delfi is small and the hose is in the center of the upper of its 3 main streets opposite the big church and a bakery. Parking is by the house. The building and the furniture are not modern but the place is highly recommended!
This is a beautiful home, artfully decorated with a country-style decor with books, antique textiles and lovely furnishings. The kitchen is very well furnished for cooking in--nothing was lacking--the beds were comfortable and the house well-heated during our Christmas visit. There is a nice deck and sitting area. The whole house is warm and inviting and felt like being in a copy of Country Living or Architectural Digest. Joanna helped us get in and settled and was friendly and helpful. A great place to stay in Delphi---if there wasn't so much to do outside I'd have happily spent more time inside this great place. A big plus was being able to walk to the Museum and archeology site from the front door.
We had a perfect stay at George's house in Delphi. The house is located central at a great spot in the small mountain village, right next to the church and the local school.
We had both floors which was great for us since we were there with our family.
The whole house was nice and clean and there was all we needed.
The kids enjoyed the mezzanine where they were sleeping. The bedrooms had good beds and closets to store our bags and clothes.
When not out of the house we spend our time at the terrace with the great view and nice atmosphere.
Joanna that helps George with the house was really nice. She was helpful and easy to get in contact with regarding our arrival and our departure.
We can only give our best recommendations to George's place. We would definitely stay there again if coming back to Delphi.
I've stayed in many Airbnb flats over the past year and this is the first time that the actual flat was so much better than even the pictures or information described. George's well-located apartment was comfortable, cozy, and in a picture-perfect location. Walking distance to great restaurants and of course the Ancient site of Delphi, but also in such a beautiful spot you may want to spend an afternoon just enjoying the view on the balcony. While George was out of town when we arrived, he left a welcome note and some goodies for us, and his colleague welcomed us with some homemade wine. We felt completely at home and only wish we had planned to spend more time in Delphi. Great communication with George as well. Absolutely recommend.
