Surrounded by nature, our farm offers wooded trails, mountain views, open pastures, slow mornings, and a spacious stone firepit.
Our cozy two-story cottage with loft and wraparound porch sits beside the stables, overlooking the barn, pond, and paddocks—perfect for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and stargazers.

Watch horses graze from your porch, walk wooded trails, and stargaze in total quiet.
Surrounded by vineyards, wedding venues, and historic destinations, the region is known for its wine country, scenic landscapes, hiking trails, and nearby rivers for fishing—all set within a relaxed, refined pace of life. In the evenings, gather around the firepit under the stars—a perfect way to end a peaceful day on the farm. Just 25 minutes from Charlottesville, yet a world away from the everyday.

🏡 What’s It Like Staying at the Cottage?
The Cottage at Still Pond Farm has a rustic yet contemporary feel, with open, airy spaces designed to bring the outside in. Cozy textiles and warm wood are blended with accents of glass and mirrors, reflecting natural light and creating a sense of calm. A lofted ceiling adds height and openness, while bay windows in the living and dining rooms frame views of the surrounding paddocks, 60ft round pen, barn, and stables.
Throughout the cottage, windows provide ever-changing glimpses of the farm—horses grazing, boarders riding, or staff tending to animals—offering a quiet rhythm of daily farm life. Behind the cottage, a wooded border adds a sense of privacy and seclusion, making it feel tucked away while still near everything.
Though we’re a working farm, guest and resident quarters are well-separated, and the cottage is thoughtfully placed for both comfort and privacy. In the evening, soft interior lighting adds a warm glow, gently lighting the bay windows. The farm is quiet at night, and the cottage feels serene and tucked away—aside from the occasional call of a coyote or fox, or the gentle sounds of our horses and chickens nearby.
Guest access
Guests are welcome to enjoy the full beauty of Still Pond Farm, including our walking trails, open natural spaces, and peaceful rural surroundings. The cottage and its wraparound porch are yours to enjoy in complete privacy during your stay.
While you are free to explore much of the property, we kindly ask that guests do not enter farm buildings, fenced paddocks, or other designated animal care areas. This is for the safety of our animals, boarders, and guests.
We also restrict access to the deck surrounding our natural pond in order to protect the migratory birds, native plants, and wildlife that call it home. The pond is visible from several areas of the property—including the cottage porch—and can still be appreciated from a respectful distance.
If you’d like to use the pond deck or gazebo for family photography, engagement sessions, or other special moments, we’re happy to accommodate with advance notice. Just contact us prior to your visit to arrange access.

It’s the perfect location to spend the day exploring the mountains—then return home to the peace and quiet of the farm for a cozy, relaxing evening.

The safety and well-being of our guests, animals, and farm staff remain our top priority. The cottage is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each stay, including all linens, surfaces, and high-touch areas. Given the size of our 1,600 sq ft cottage and the level of care we provide, a one-time $125 cleaning fee ensures the space is fully refreshed and ready for each guest.
We also maintain a mandatory one-day buffer between bookings to allow for a thoughtful reset and a safe, quiet experience.
