Contentissima. Grazie per l'ospitalitá
The studio apartment looks like the photos and it is spacious enough for 2 people or 2 people with 2 small children.
We drove around and around for over an hour to find the address. We phoned twice and talked to Mrs Lorenzo. On the third call, I asked if they would simply come to meet us, which Lorenzo did. Not a good start, but we were pleased with the apartment. I needed to do a lot of laundry between destinations. There is a washer, but no dryer. There is a small clothesline in the bathroom, and a drying rack on the front patio. Luckily the weather was good, and our clothes dried the same day.
There is no microwave oven.
There was no dish drying towel provided, and no paper towel, napkins,or Kleenex, so the 2 toilet paper rolls would not have lasted through our stay without having purchased some napkins/Kleenex. A large bottle of water and some pasta and sauce were there for our use, as was coffee, sugar, and some spices. If you prefer a clean, slightly used sponge, bring your own. There were no ice cube trays in the freezer.
The bed was comfortable, and there was a choice of pillows and covers. The futon was more for providing additional bedding, than as a couch. There was lots of storage space. The area was quiet and felt safe, although the locks on the front gate, both doors, and the window made me pause. Maps and info about Roma were on the coffee table.
There were 2 young cats hanging around on the front patio, and one of them wandered into the apartment almost as soon as we arrived. We eventually got it to leave. My husband is allergic to cats. One of the cats hung around the patio and seemed to delight in rubbing up against my pant leg while I was trying to hang our laundry. I am not fond of cats.
The bathroom is spacious. There is a tub with a hand held faucet, so it is not really a shower.
Lorenzo and his family live next door and were very available through an intercom system. Lorenzo a!so kindly allowed us to borrow his GPS for 3 days. It really made a difference in our stay.
If you have a car with you, I feel that it must be noted that street parking is extremely limited because residents also rely on street parking, includIng Lorenzo. We never knew upon each return whether there would be a parking space available. One time we had to park on an adjoining street and watch the road until someone else left. Then we moved the car. Also, parking is on a hill, so you must be able to parallel park a manual transmission car in reverse, uphill.
I would recommend Lorenzo's place, as long as the guest is aware of the limitations. He and his wife are very kind and helpful.
The apartment appeared just like in the pictures. It was very clean and had what you needed. The hosts were pleasant and explained the information by showing us a folder which contained helpful maps and train times etc. The hosts also left us some spaghetti and tomatoes as we arrived late and the shops were shut. This was very kind and much appreciated. Everything was lovely and the place is in a quiet location. The only slight negative for us, which may not be a negative for some is that the shower is not very powerful. However it is still useful for washing and getting clean. We are glad that this was our first option to stay at, as it is close to the airport which is just what you want. The train station is also in easy walking distance. At first it feels a distance to walk but once you have done it you realise it isn't far at all. We thank are hosts for having us to stay and hope are feedback is helpful and useful.
Lorenzo è una persona disponibile e nello stesso momento riservata ,sicuramente se ritorno a Roma cercherò la disponibilità di questo alloggio. CONSIGLIATISSIMO!
Lorenzo and his wife were incredible hosts. Lorenzo was kind to pick us up from a bus station one night when our bus never showed up and another night he got us pretty late after an evening tour we had so we didn't have to get a taxi (it ended after the last train of the night). He was also more than happy to bring us to the train station on his way to work in the early morning, this worked great for us but you have to be an early riser as he leaves at 7:30am!
The trip into Roma isn't too bad, as long as you don't want to be out late!
They provided pasta and sauce in case we were hungry and wanted to cook some, and the place was very clean. They were so accommodating, and to top it off of you get a peek at their kiddo... Molto carino!! Lorenzo speaks a bit of English but not a whole lot so my iPhone translator came in handy--his wife speaks perfect English so there were no issues with communication at all!
Overall, it was an incredible stay in a cute, spacious place. Worth the value most definitely. I would solely say if you are a night life person, throw down the money to stay in central Rome because the trains end sooner than expected.
