Lovely flat in typical Greek neighbourhood, very quiet, very safe, near the center, within walking distance of all necessary shops (supermarkets, bakery, etc.), bars and eating places. For more details, read... the full description!
L'anglais n'est pas votre tasse de thé? Pas de problème. Envoyez-moi un petit mot et je vous dis tout en français...
This cosy, small (55 sq.m.) apartment is situated in a very calm, very safe central neighbourhood, just 7-min. walk (10 min. with luggage!) from the metro station Evangelismos which is on the direct line from/to the airport. The airport express bus X95 also stops at Evangelismos, on the street level just above the metro station. Unlike the metro which stops working around midnight and starts again at 6 am, the bus runs 24/7 every 15/20 min. so even if your plane departure is very early in the morning it is possible to get to the airport in 40 min. after having enjoyed a restful evening in the apartment.
The neighbourhood is typically Greek-friendly with all the necessary shops, supermarkets, coffee shops, taverns. There are several museums within walking distance and easy access with the metro to any place in the city. It is very safe and walking late at night is not a problem. In summer there are 2 Pullmans going each day to the beach, leaving from just around the corner.
Looking at the pictures you will see the living room with a comfortable sofa-bed to accommodate two people when open, the entrance hall-den with a table to eat or work, the bedroom with two beds and lots of cupboards. A new feature... the two beds can be turned into one comfortable, double bed. Please let us know if you would prefer this accommodation. Then there is the bathroom with bath tub and washing machine, the fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave oven and all about coffee and tea. A small balcony is overlooking a calm inside courtyard. There is air conditioning and central heating, a TV set with Greek, French, English programmes and a CD player with a small choice of CDs. Wi-Fi of course and last but not least a small library with books in English, French and Greek.
You will also find in:
Bathroom: a hair dryer, a small 1st aid kit, shower gel, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, cotton pads.
Kitchen: tea, coffee, sugar, bottled water (although tap water is perfectly drinkable), fruit juice, butter, marmalade, canned milk (in small portions), some fruits, biscuits, crackers, oil, vinegar, instant coffee and whatever special thing you might request, a steam iron and iron board, a fire extinguisher and in the bedroom, during the summer, there is a fan for those who don't like the aircon so much and a beach bag with beach towels!
The apartment is thoroughly cleaned by professionals between each visit.
Although we don't live nearby we will give you all the necessary information and help to make your stay successful.
So, if you are spending a few days in Athens on your way to/from the islands or other historical places, beaches, monuments, this small, simple apartment, without fuss, is ideal to take a rest after a day of visiting. Or maybe you are in Athens for business and you feel like a change? True, there is no room service and no mini bar, but it has a “like home” atmosphere and you will be able to relax and prepare for tomorrow’s meetings in total calmness.
I nearly forgot :) should you like it so much that you feel like renting it for a longer period, to finish writing this book you are working on, to live the real Greek life for some more time or just to enjoy a change from your “other” life, we can discuss the rent. Just ask.
The apartment is used only by guests. No one lives there. The terrace on top of the building can be used to hang laundry and to take pictures of the city!
Interaction with guests
I can be reached by email or text messages between 8 AM and midnight.
Simply follow plain, common sense, way of living... and remember that in Greece siesta time is really very important, so try to be quiet between 2 and 5 pm if you are in the apartment. When leaving close the apartment door with the key instead of banging it as it might echo in the whole building.
