The room is in a two bedroom apartment with shared bathroom. I give out the room to people who need it while I am out of town. I charge no cleaning fees, I simply hand over the room & putting sheets & linen on is self service / low price in turn.
Why staying in places with lack of soul when you can have a room with character? Imagine a warm atmosphere, bringing you back in the 1900s, with furnitures and carefully choosen acessories, all well composed with with modern amenities and comfort.
This room, in the heart of the lively district of Berlin Mitte could host you for a short trip, business trip and is very well suited for a long term stay.
There is a proper bed (140 x 200 cm) and a huge sliding door dresser in the room. Even though you don't see it on the pictures: the room has a door that can be shut and locked.
A comfy couch is yours, as well as a matching antique armchair. Big curtains protect from sunlight - if you wish, and make the room even more private.
There are many bars and cafes, among them the famous Cafe OBERHOLZ, with its bloggers, IT and new media people, surfing day-in and day out and sipping their Latte.
Spots like Alexanderplatz or Hackescher Markt are in walking distance, about 7 minutes away.
There are also perfect connections to suburban trains and Underground.
A kitchen for home cooking and gatherings, a big bathroom for quick showers or longer endulgings: this is what you get, and on top a well-experienced host with passion for airbnb and hospitality.

Getting in and out was a breeze. The place was very spacious and Jay was super accommodating. six stars.

Hi really appreciated Jay's apartment. The room is big, bright, clean and cozy. The bad is very comfortable, I slept very well during my stay. The neighborhood is full of restaurants, pubs, bars and shops and its few minutes walk from Alexanderplatz. In a great position for a tourist! Unfortunately I was not able to meet Jay because he was away from Berlin during my stay, but I have been welcomed by his friend who showed me the apartment and rent me a bike. Jay was always reachable throught airbnb message system, he always answered to my questions. I really recommend this apartment for the beautiful room, the good position and Jay hospitality.
Staying at Jay's apartment was wonderful. The place is really warm, clean and comfertable, and I felt at home prety much instantly.
The apartment is in a central place and it made me feel secure, also at nights. Although the location is central, the room is quite, thanks to a double-glassed window.
Unfurtonately, I missed the chance to meet Jay, but we talk through e-mail, and even from far away he was a great host(together with his nice friend), and took care for all of my needs. VERY RECOMMENDED! :))
Jay is such a great guy and i'm really glad i choosed his appartment to stay. He has great taste and i'm absolutely in love with his house and the district where it is. After 5 days spent walking around everywhere in Berlin, i can honestly say that this location is the best to stay! And no doubt that i will be back :)

In case you plan to move to Berlin, I may have some good advice for you.
My preference is on having a good work/life balance, and besides I like travelling very much, I am becoming more and more domestic. I appreciate traditional values like family orientation and would say I am a modern conservative.
I am commuting between the two cities, Munich and Berlin.
Often, I have the capacity to offer one of my places and I am happy if it proves to be useful to you.
People I like: who have themselves together and are eager to learn.
I LOVE TO HOST AND MAKE MY GUESTS FEEL COMFORTABLE!
AND: it is not all about money:
If you are an artight art, est, I am generally up to exchange accommodation against artwork, let it be graphic design, painting, litc.. It all depends on my bad taste, admittedly ;)
One last thing: I am Northern European. For me, everything must be efficient: using 4 minute showers an being squeaky clean, improvised cooking and still creating delicious meals, going out late and still getting up at 8 in the morning: it all can work!
