The Pillar Suite is a private walk-out basement space with a bedroom, living and dining area, and bathroom w/shower -- no tub. Geographically its an ideal location to explore beautiful Cape Elizabeth beaches and about 7 miles from downtown Portland. The decor is modest but good quality and we keep it clean and well-maintained. The bed is a brand new queen-sized.

Please note we live upstairs w/two college kids and a yellow lab. We try to be quiet but there's noise at times and we get up early.

The space

Nicely appointed and furnished walk-out apartment in beautiful coastal town of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Quality bedding and towels, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. There is one queen-size bed. Clean, private bathroom and shower. Comfortable living space with Internet and gardens. Fabulous location! Near beaches, birding, village, parks, walking path, art galleries and vibrant foody city of Portland.

Guests can expect attentive hospitality, privacy, responsible and friendly hosts, and a clean, comfortable place to call home.

Please note this space is below our kitchen, therefore there will be occasional cooking and family noise, but we promise to keep it to a minimum.

The Pillar Suite on Shore Road is within walking distance to Cape Elizabeth Town Center and on the Shore Road Path, a new walking path that can take you directly to the famous Portland Head Light.

There is no public transportation, except cabs. Biking, running and walking is very popular.

The Pillar Suite has the amenities of a nice hotel, with the comfort and space of home.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the Pillar Suite and the back yard and garden.

Interaction with guests

We are usually available in person or via text at all times.

Other things to note

We do not provide food (because our experience is that guests do not eat it) and there is some noise overhead when we are in our kitchen and we get up around 5 AM. Pack snacks and ear plugs and you will be great!

Cynthia's place was exactly as described. The check-in/check-out process was seamless and Cynthia was easily accessible if we needed anything. The location of the house is perfect; only 10 mins from Portland. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect spot for a couple/few friends to stay! We had an unbelievably fun time! Cynthia and Tom were present when we had questions and also gave us plenty of privacy; they are excellent hosts. The place was clean, comfortable and spacious. The location was perfect; right in between downtown Portland and the bigger state parks and beaches. A car was definitely convenient, however we did use Uber to get us to and from Portland a couple of times and that was fine too (about $10 each way). They were also flexible with our check in/out time which was a huge help for us. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect get-a-way. Didn't mind (notice) the noise upstairs in the morning at all. Would definitely come back!

This place was like a gone away from home. It was comfortable, and clean. We enjoyed a peaceful, relaxed stay in gorgeous Cape Elizabeth! We greatly appreciated the discreet daily trash pick up, clean dishes, and daily fresh towels, as well as having coffee and teas provided. The large space had a separate living area, fireplace, games, books to read, a desk, dinette, microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge, and spacious bedroom, nice bedding, and good sized close, stocked bathroom with good shower pressure and thick towels. The shower stall was tight, but adequate. If possible I would like to seeend tables added on both sides of the bed, with small table lamps in the bedroom, and living room for some softer lighting to create cozy ambiance to this lovely setting. Love the big windows, fresh air, and beautiful flowers outside. We appreciated the privacy but knowing if we needed anything, that our hosts were happy to assist. Thank you.

Thank you for hosting our Portland experience! The pillar suite was spacious, cozily furnished, meticulously clean, and had everything we could have wanted for our stay. Great location for stepping out the door for morning run - water views and forest trails just down the road were a real treat. Being greeted by Marley when we came back was super sweet too :) Quick easy drive to downtown Portland and the airport, I only wish we'd had time to fit in a sunset sail! Thanks Cynthia for your hospitality, it was a spectacular stay.

Cozy, clean, and quiet space located about 10 minutes outside of Portland. We were very pleased with the suite and would recommend it to anyone considering visiting Maine.
