About this listing
Algeciras provides a perfect location to explore the unknown area of the Campo de Gibraltar. Surrounded by ancient villages crowned with castles, fishing towns and some of the best known golf courses in the world, it becomes the gateaway to an unforgettable holiday. You can be in Spain, the UK and Morocco without travelling more than an hour away. Gibraltar is 20 minutes away and Morocco is just accross the strait. You can spend a day in Africa and come back to sleep on our comfortable home ;) There are many possibilities in this area and we can give you very useful tips to make the most of your stay.
Our house is very spacious, with four rooms available for you if you're a big family or are coming with friends. We have our own swimming pool that you won't have to share with anyone else and a beautiful garden to sunbathe, chill-out or have a BBQ. A car is advisable to explore the area and we have plenty of room to park it. Our home is situated in a very quiet area, 10 minutes away from the beach, right at the entrance to the city, so you won't have to drive around town.
Algeciras is very well connected. You have three different airports very close by: Málaga, Jerez or Gibraltar; train station, bus station and an impressive harbour which is one of the biggest in Europe. Cristóbal will welcome you with a big smile and, depending on the arrival time and his availability, he can pick you up at the bus/train station or harbour. He's a driving teacher, golf-player and a brilliant cook who can also provide you with delicious food upon request (sea-food and paellas are his speciality. Prices vary depending on the meal). And if you like organic food, we normally have a vegetable patch with our own tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, pepers or watermelons :)
Come and live a unique experience!!
P.S. We're currently redecorating the interior, so picutes will be soon provided.
Just be respectful and be as if you were in your own home. Common sense rules are the best rules to follow.
We accept pets but they have to stay outside the house. There is a sheltered area especially designed for them.
No smoking is allowed in the bedrooms.
It was my mistake not realizing it was a private room. I did not like the setup & I would not recommend.
The location was great, strait out of the highway into a neighbourhood in Algeciras, very quiet and fairly central for all the of what the campo de gibraltar has to offer.

About the Host, Pilar
I'm a Spanish teacher who leaves in Edinburgh because of a PhD research that has to be carried out at the National Library of Scotland. This is my second time living in Scotland since I spent some time here in (phone number hidden). I'm in love with this country, its landscapes and its people. I love travelling, photography and books. Although I am a urbanite and I love the city vibe, I need to escape into nature from time to time.
I decided to join Airbnb as a different way of travelling. At the same time, I encouraged my father to offer his several spare rooms in his house in Spain as a way of putting up with the costs of a big house and as a way of meeting people and sharing some knowledge of the area with them. He loves playing golf, cooking and entertaining people, so he'll be your perfect host.
