The space

Our cottage is quaint and cozy. Very clean and updated all down bedding and pillows. White beach decor and open kitchen/living room floor plan. The cottage is behind a private fence where you will also enjoy a private garden patio and sitting area. There is a small bbq if you feel inclined. The beauty of this cottage is its location, walk everywhere and when you are done with your day you have a comfortable beautiful place to put your feet up and relax.
Very important to know we cannot host anyone who intends to host parties at the cottage. We have other tenants to consider. Also important to know the cottage is not ideal for families with small children under the age of 12.
Thank you and have a beautiful time at the beach!

We stayed here for the Miwok100k trail race. The start was right across the street. The place was cozy and very comfortable. Lots of high end finishes and great use of the space.

Here's the skinny on this baby. I'm writing this primarily for people with kids so if this is not you, move on (and enjoy your sleep. Like, really, I'm jealous). Okay! The cottage is in an ideal location. You can walk to the beach in 5 minutes. There's a restaurant and coffee place that opens early that's a 2 minute walk. Coffee place moves quickly and you can buy pastries but the restaurant moves slow. As in over an hour slow. Not good with a toddler. And frankly, annoying as all get out. It was that wait with the restaurant 1/2 full. Grrr. Fortunately, there's a playground across from the restaurant. The playground is best for up to age 5 . It's in full sun (bummer) and lacks swings but it's a playground 2 minutes from the cottage. Sweet. There's a local market (no organic, sells fishing rods and flashlights) kind of a deal that's good for emergencies but if you need the gluten-free dino chicken nuggets, it's not happening. There are other eating options - a take-out burger thingy right by the beach, another on the beach, and a higher-end restaurant that didn't serve the most amazing food but you paid like it did. Mostly, however, you're there for the beach, which is awesome. Views to die for up and down the coast. Don't use the public bathrooms, however. Trust me on this. Like, there was a patina of human excrement across the entirety of the women's restroom trust me on this. Walk the 5 minutes back to the cottage. The cottage itself is essentially a tiny concrete bunker decorated very nicely. Marble countertops, that bone-colored wood flooring that only works at the beach, puffy pillow with pom-poms, that whole thing. There is no storage. Not a single closet. This was a bit hard with kids since you have to bring 5 outfits a day for the inevitable yogurt on the shirt, poop up the back, what I'm NOT supposed to eat the ice-cream with my hands? moments. Fortunately, there is outside washer and dryer. Necessary at the beach and so. happy. they were there. Some clear indications that the owner isn't looking for kids to stay there - no electrical outlet covers. Not the kids safety covers, I mean covers at all. So Mr. toddler let me poke my hands into this had to be watched constantly, which got a bit old. The decor was also decidedly non-kid friendly - glass floats only 2 feet off the ground, glass vases eerily similar to sand dollars but not, etc. It made for lovely decor but we spend a good hour getting everything out of arm's reach. Final thoughts about the cottage: you're paying for location and the tiny, world-nicest decorated bunker, is just for sleeping. Oh, and for a parking spot. You're also paying for a parking spot. Because Stinson Beach on a weekend is a doozy. And I say this living in LA. I would be remiss if...

This place is indeed cozy and adorable! Beautifully decorated, very comfortable and everything you need. Easy walk to the beach and shops and restaurants. We explored Port Reyes Nat'l. Seashore one day. On another day we hiked in Mt. Tam State Park. We were going to kayak but were rained out. Very fun place to stay. I do want to point out that one bedroom is very small - little room to walk around the bed let alone anywhere to set a suitcase. The other bedroom is large with a big chest of drawers and a rack to hang up clothes but this room has two single beds. Therefore I don't think this would be a good choice for two couples traveling together. One couple would have a large room but have to sleep apart while the other couple could sleep together but wouldn't have any room. Otherwise, this place is perfect - a true gem!
