About This Listing
The Marquette Beach House is a quiet, relaxing retreat from everyday life. Three generations of our family have lived in and enjoyed this home. We are excited to share it with you, and hope you will be our guest!
In the Beach House, you are surrounded by amazing views of Lake Superior. The home features an open living room and kitchen area, with an eat-in counter, and a family room with HD TV and DVD player.
We have four bedrooms (2 upstairs from the main floor, 2 in partially finished basement) which accommodate a total of eight people. We have two full baths and laundry on the main floor, a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, and folding chairs for your use on the beach. Our large deck has patio furniture & built-in benches for you to enjoy the beautiful views, and stairs that bring you to the path down to the water.
Situated on two partially wooded acres, we have 125 feet of Lake Superior sandy beach frontage for you to enjoy while you stay at the Beach House. We are located just 5 miles from Marquette, where you will find shopping, restaurants, Northern Michigan University & Marquette General Hospital. It is a beautiful town in all four seasons, with plenty of outdoor things to do at any time of year.
No smoking and no pets, please. Thanks!
The Beach House accommodates eight people, whether they be sleeping in the house or in a tent/camper on the property. The extra wear & tear on the house and septic system necessitates that we stick to this number. Thanks for being considerate. :)
This is a family-oriented vacation rental, so while we love for you to have family reunions & gatherings, we prefer that there not be excessive drinking at the Beach House. Thanks!

Some things, believe it or not, aren't too good to be true. Matt and Amy's house on Lake Superior was an excellent location, value, and experience. If, like me, you live for Great Lakes beachfront, this place is an incredible find. Plus super close to Marquette (10 minute drive, tops). We had no issues and our hosts were communicative and accommodating. Can't wait to return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marquette Beach House! It was the perfect setting to appreciate fall in the Upper Peninsula. The views of Lake Superior are incredible. I recommend this house to anyone looking for a place to stay near Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (only about 40 minutes away), or anyone looking to enjoy the Upper Peninsula in general.
Thanks Amy & Matt!
My stay at the Marquette Beach House was great. I would highly recommend staying and I myself will likely stay here again. Upon my arrival, the house was well kept and clean and all of the rooms were prepared. The kitchen was clean, and the fridge/freezer were ready to be filled and the oven was ready for use. The central island was very nice addition and a great spot to serve. The location of the house was perfect, just a short walk down to the beach, where some campfire wood had been left for me. I spent a lot of time out on the shore of Lake Superior and it was a gorgeous view of sunsets and sunrises from the beach chairs and swing. The location of the house was very central to several activities in the area (hiking, paddling, and dining in downtown Marquette). While there were neighbors close by, the area was very quiet during the entire length of my stay, and I never really noticed the neighbors. Very peaceful.
In addition, it was great that their was WiFi and cable. I was able to be online for planning day trips, and was able to catch the Tigers games in the evenings after the sun had set.
Amy was very responsive from making my reservation to answering a few questions during my stay. Overall, this was a great place, and it comes highly recommended.
My friends and I live all over the country and wanted to do an NMU reunion of sorts. This house was great for us all to hangout and be together. We had 7 people total and I don't recall hearing anyone complain about not having any hot water for their shower. Amy and Matt were really easy to work with and very welcoming. They put together a welcome basket full of s'more fixings that was really sweet. If the weather was better that weekend, we definitely would have gobbled them right up!
Amy and Matt - thank you for a great time at the Marquette Beach House. It fit our family of 5 perfectly. The view of the lake is amazing as is the beach. Our girls loved running down to the edge of the water (a little to chilly for swimming). Our only complaint would be that we had some nasty ants roaming in the kitchen - after adding a few more ant traps, it improved. Still loved the location.
Thanks again for sharing your home with us so that we could share time with our visit to our Marquette relatives! Hope to come back again soon! Bob, Kristi and our girls!
We had a memorable stay at the Marquette Beach House...exactly what we were hoping for! Our hosts we excellent and all our expectations were met. We have recommended this property to family and friends and we recommend it to you too!
We had an excellent stay at the Marquette Beach House. Eight of us were in town for a friends' wedding, and staying at the beach house was not only the most economical option, but allowed us to enjoy Lake Superior and the beach--a side of Marquette we may have otherwise missed out on!
Amy and Matt keep the house clean and well-furnished. We made our meals at the house and were not wanting for any kitchen utensils or supplies. The beach house is well-stocked with games for both outdoor and indoor entertainment. We didn't have to worry about bringing our own towels or linens either, which made packing much easier.
I know all of my fellow travelers would agree when I say I would come back again to the Marquette Beach House in a heartbeat. Happy travels!
