Interaction with Guests
I do live at this house, so I'm usually available if needed.
The guests may enter through the main floor if they choose or around the back way if they don't want to interact.
I'm friendly & so is my cat, so please feel free to visit with us or ask for guidance with your trip. My puppy is a bit shy, but with the right treats she warms up right away.
Comfortable, clean & neat NE Portland neighborhood. Park within walking distance. Near Beaumont-Wilshire shopping area which includes coffee shops and breweries, two things we take very seriously in Portland!! Also includes boutique shops, fresh bagels and yoga. About 2 miles from one of Portland's best farmers markets (Hollywood Farmer's Market, 8am to 1pm Saturdays). Just picked up berries, cherries, asparagus and tomatoes. Delicious!
Close to bus lines on Fremont and Sandy. Can access MAX with one short bus ride. Close to bike routes and shops, brewery within walking distance.
On-street parking, no fees or limits.
Other Things to Note
Portland's unique trash system allows us to operate an entire household on less than 1 cubic gallon of trash per day. (another thing we take seriously here in Portland!). This household reduces, recycles and composts about 90% of all waste.
No smoking in the house, preferably not on the premises. Small dogs, cats, bunnies, etc allowed. The mother-in-law apartment has a separate entrance through the back of the house, come & go as you please.
Renee was very nice and left muffins, yogurt and coffee in the refrigerator. The lights along the path were helpful. She did email us with instructions that we did not read because we had already left home and did not get the email. We were disappointed in the backyard because we had planned to eat back there with the kids but the grass was very high.
Renee place was amazing. My wife and I had a wonderful experience. She was very accommodating. She was able to provide us with great recommendations for good food and entertainment since we have never been to Portland before. The room was cozy and private. this was my first experience with Airbnb. I will be using the sight again.
Renee was very welcoming and helpful. The apartment was as advertised. I would definitely consider staying here again.
This is a spacious and comfy basement apartment in a quiet NE PDX neighborhood. Entry is through the garage, but the apartment is fully converted with a lovely bathroom and a kitchen that is just right for someone traveling through (2 burners, half fridge, pots and pans and dishes well stocked). I did not get to meet Renee while I was in town (she was also traveling at the time) but the home was easy to find and Renee was accommodating to our needs. A nice place to crash while we were in town visiting friends. One plus--when you pull the curtains, it can stay dim in the room even after sun up. We slept in so well!! :)
Renee made us feel welcome during our first ever Airbnb rental. We met her upon arrival and she gave us a tour before handing off the keys. The apartment was clean, cozy and spacious for two people. It had the perfect sized kitchen for making quick breakfasts and Renee even provided a small coffee bar and snacks. All in all we felt right at home.
The house is in a quiet neighborhood and there is plenty of street parking available. There are some great attractions not too far, so we enjoyed having more of that local experience compared with staying in a hotel.
Renee was a excellent host. I felt like I was a welcomed guest in her home. And she was quick to respond to any concern or need I had. The studio apartment space is quite large and accommodating. There is a nicely setup kitchen, a great bathroom, and dining space and ample storage for clothes. I really enjoyed the Portland information binder, maps and information provided and Renee's bookshelf of games and books. The neighborhood is quiet, relaxed and with-in walking distance to a number of useful life requirements, grocery, shopping and restaurants. If you are planning a trip to Portland and are looking for a hotel alternative I would recommend staying at Renee's.
Nice, comfortable room. Really handy to have own entrance, private bathroom and kitchen. And Renee was very accommodating about my dog, Clio. Very friendly person too.
Recently returned from a 6 year jaunt that took me through Virginia & New Mexico. It's hard to adjust to the rain but happy to be back among friends & family!
