Interaction with Guests
I do live at this house, so I'm usually available if needed.
The guests may enter through the main floor if they choose or around the back way if they don't want to interact.
I'm friendly & so is my cat, so please feel free to visit with us or ask for guidance with your trip. My puppy is a bit shy, but with the right treats she warms up right away.
Comfortable, clean & neat NE Portland neighborhood. Park within walking distance. Near Beaumont-Wilshire shopping area which includes coffee shops and breweries, two things we take very seriously in Portland!! Also includes boutique shops, fresh bagels and yoga. About 2 miles from one of Portland's best farmers markets (Hollywood Farmer's Market, 8am to 1pm Saturdays). Just picked up berries, cherries, asparagus and tomatoes. Delicious!
Close to bus lines on Fremont and Sandy. Can access MAX with one short bus ride. Close to bike routes and shops, brewery within walking distance.
On-street parking, no fees or limits.
Other Things to Note
Portland's unique trash system allows us to operate an entire household on less than 1 cubic gallon of trash per day. (another thing we take seriously here in Portland!). This household reduces, recycles and composts about 90% of all waste.
No smoking in the house, preferably not on the premises. Small dogs, cats, bunnies, etc allowed. The mother-in-law apartment has a separate entrance through the back of the house, come & go as you please.
Had a lovely time staying in Renee's basement apartment. It was neat and clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.
Renee was a very friendly host. Good location, however the price was a little steep for the value.
Renee is very accommodating and the apartment was perfect for our short stay in portland. She provided coffee and snacks, and the kitchen is equipt for cooking. 5 min to buses that can take you anywhere in Portland. Wonderful spot.
Renee's apartment was fantastic for our final night in Portland. The place was very neat and tidy, and the coffee maker was a great touch to the space! Because of traffic our schedule was kind of all over the place, and Renee was extremely understanding and helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer to get to know the cool neighborhood we were in!
Renee was very welcoming and kind. She was flexible with the check-in time and the appartment/rooms had everything you needed for a good stay. The house was 10 minutes away from downtown Portland by car and the neighbourhood was quite and nice.
Our stay with Renee was awesome! Good location in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, breweries, and bars in walking distance. The studio had plenty of space for two with a kitchenette and bathroom, plus a big, comfy bed. We travel with dogs which can be difficult, but Renee was very accommodating and had a nice, fenced in yard. Renee herself was an a great host; she gave us plenty of space but was there for some conversation and recommendations of what to do in Portland.
We had a morning flight from PDX and wanted somewhere near the airport so that we didn't need to rush. Renee's place was a good fit, and she was very accommodating (our arrival time kept changing, and she still made it very easy to get the keys). Renee also gave us a great dinner recommendation in a nearby neighborhood.
It's important to note that the studio is in a basement that you access through a garage, but for the price and location, the studio was what we needed. And an added bonus: the bathroom shower's water pressure was fantastic!
