The village square is just a few minutes away. There you can find all basic amanitas. This house is away from touristy areas. Staying at this house will give you a memorable village-life experience. Your neighbours will mostly be fishermen and farmers! Since Gozo is a small island you can visit any on the villages and beaches in just a few minutes. The capital city of Gozo is called Victoria. There you can find museums, attractions, shopping, cinema, parks...etc. If you are looking for anything in particular please don't hesitate to ask!
Getting to the house is easy. We normally suggest to our visitors to book an airport mini-van transfer that will take you from the airport in Malta, to the house in Gozo. We can help you with this. If you want to rent a car or jeep, you can also book it with the same company. There are always parking spots available outside the house.
Renting a car is obviously the best option to explore Gozo. But if you do not want to rent a car you can use Gozo's public transport. The bus network in Gozo is very efficient and cheap! You can use it to visit all the major attractions and beaches on the island. There is a bus-stop just a short walk away from this property.
This house is in a residential area - with local families living next door. Loud music is not permitted at night.

The villa in Xewkija was excellent for my wife and I to stay, whilst our children were on a school diving holiday in St Julian's Bay. It is in a built up but very sleepy area, with the only noise being the keenly rung church bells nearby.
The Villa is well equipped and comfortable, and the pool area is small and private, but forms a remarkably good sun trap for most of the day/ evening.
Michael's communication before and during the stay were good, and his colleague lives very close by and checked everything was OK whenever we saw him.
A shop in the square 2-3 mins walk has the eseentials, but we didn't finish all of the welcome pack left for us - very thoughtful, thank you.
Gozo is a beautiful but quiet island, with lots of stunning scenery/ beaches and a car was useful, but there seems to be plenty of buses to where ever you want to go.
Would recommend and may use again.
The house was as described, very comfortable, very large. A nice touch was the essentials (and some non-essentials) in the fridge when we arrived. The neighborhood is pleasant, the local store at the square has an amazing range of goods, all that one would need, for restaurants Victoria is a pleasant 1km stroll away.
Michael and Jeffrey were very helpful.
In summary, a place I would be more than happy to stay at again.
Nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse au calme et au soleil. La maison est très pratique et a du charme. Le village est central et toute l'île de gozo est accessible en moins de 15 minutes.
Tac-Cikkrell Farmhouse is a little jewel in Xewkija, a very quiet and picturesque gozitan village with very few tourists, suitable for families.
The house is beautifully refurbished to modern standards, but still charming with the original walls of gozitan limestone and wooden beams.
Also, it is very well equipped with more appliances than you can think of.
Both Jeffrey, the owner, and Michael live in the neighborhood and were very helpful, always answering text messages and showing up very quickly as soon as we needed them.
During our stay it was both hot and extremely humid because of the scirocco wind, so the possibility to use the air conditioners in the bedrooms really showed to be crucial for our comfort. Compared to Scandinavian standard, the beds were a little short for a tall person, and also not as soft as we are used to, but I think this is the situation in every mediterranean house. Both we and the kids loved the swimming pool as well as the roof terrace, where we spent the evenings with refreshing drinks, watching the stars and listening only to the quiet sounds of a distant donkey.
Gozo is a small island, which makes it very easy to travel around it by bus. The nearest bus stop is situated by the village square (a two minute walt from the house) and from there, it takes only five minutes to Victoria where you can change to other buses and go to Xlendi, Marsalforn, Dwejra, Nadur and other beaches and villages in about 15 minutes. We bought 7-day tickets that cost only 7 Euros, and it was well worth it.
There are only a few restaurants in Xewkija (we really recommend the pastry shop Ir-Remissa where they also offer very tasty burgers and pizzas), but if you go to Victoria you'll find a lot of places to eat all kinds of food.
To sum up, we really enjoyed staying at this house and recommend it, especially to families.
This house is a little jewel and we felt like home there. Michael and Jeffrey are very kind and friendly. All facilities was in order and working. We had a great time and we fully recommend this house.
We had a wonderful honeymoon here, Michael and Jeffrey could not have been more helpful- I was very impressed! The house is lovely and very well equipped? and the regular bus service means it's easy to see all of Gozo. We particularly enjoyed using one of the books at the house on walking in Gozo to explore. Would love to go back.
